I thought I'd post a more positive thread rather than some of the b0ll0x moaning about some of Saturday's 'events'. ironically most of the 'negative' stuff got little mention, except in our own forums!

So despite some of the controversial stuff I think every Palace supporter can agree the display the HF put on was brilliant and only happened due to their hard work, money from themselves and other supporters and the co-operation of the club.

I've read with interest recently of over zealous copper & pillock tory councillors trying to stick the boot in to the HF & realised that the reason they are targeting these supporters is because they have passion & are bringing life back into the game of football. We all use the term 'plastics' readily enough to describe a modern style type of football supporter, the prawn sandwich brigade, the half n half scarf supporter, the glory hunters & those who think supporting a team means watch them on telly in the champions league.

I digress, so back to the title of this thread 'Up the ante...' The point is why are we leaving it just to the HF to create the atmosphere? In the past week of so a group has been set up by a 16 year old girl in the Whitehouse end in an attempt to get them to 'Up the ante...' by making some noise to support our boys.
I admit, this season I am spoiled as I'm in C block right next to the HF so atmosphere wise it couldn't get better. However last season I was in the family block of the main stand & the season before in the AW. Sure C block is a lot louder but I don't want to be complacent about it, in fact standing next to the HF makes me want every block in every stand to 'up the ante' & get stuck in!

Now we don't need a drum in every block, we don't need a capo in each block we just need the crowd in each to be more vocal! Now I say this as someone who was forced to sit before I moved to C block, not an easy thing to sing on your own in a library whilst sitting down. Certainly not to start the singing (especially when I had a singing voice as bad as mine!) So what I am suggesting (okay I concede it took me a while to get to the point) is that we start organising with those around us in each block, sort out the singing, get some flags going, (make your own or buy them for £12 from the ground shop), plenty of red & blue balloons, streamers plenty of other things I haven't even thought of but you will (coins excluded unless you want to throw them towards me ;-) ), let's turn every game into a Wembley atmosphere!!!!

FFS if we spent as much time & effort into thinking about the stuff we can do on match days rather than slagging off each other, the team, other teams & events etc. etc. then maybe we would deserve the accolade of the best supporters... So get stuck in & UP THE ANTE...
