I don't quite believe what i'm reading on this forum since the game yesterday. What the hell has happened to the spirit and togetherness of everybody since that day at Wembley last year? Maybe it's the sudden overload of armchair supporters making an appearance since promotion to the premier league but c'mon people this isn't the palace way. Throwing bottles and coins and opposing players, singing about the managers daughter in such a derogatory fashion and 'fans' arguing with each other on this forum week in week out? This wasn't what our promotion was about, Some people seem to forget we are a community driven club from South London, Of course we were never expected to beat any of these big teams coming to 'our club', a win would be superb, but get realistic people... what kind of image does it portray on this club if people have to resort to throwing items at one of the biggest players in the world AND on live TV? This season was all about respect... respecting the players and teams who have earnt their place in the premier league, respecting our own team, management and owners and most importantly respecting each other. Although it was a small minority of people yesterday, As a palace supporter I was sickened to see and hear what was being thrown and sung. Time to respect what this club has given you as a supporter and give a little back in return by supporting this club how we did at Wembley in May.

The whole episode yesterday was frankly embarrassing really spoilt the good work that the HF did with the display and the excellent atmosphere created by the majority of fans. Throwing things and calling a 19 year old girl a slut then in fighting makes us look ridiculous. I'm all for witty chants and giving players an earful but yesterday's antics were completely out of order and out of character, but that's my opinion which I share with the topic creator.

Kosowski Standing at the top of B Block 23 Feb 14 3.38pm | |

I'd like to point out the fight which took place around row 20 of B block yesterday had nothing to do with the HF or any of the B block 'regulars'. There were lots of day trippers in the stand yesterday, including in blocks A,B and C many of whom were the pissed up scummy pikey type who only show up for the 'big' games. From what I could see they started brawling against themselves. f***ing embarassing. As for the banter against Moyes's daughter, it's a little precious to be offended by it. Sticks and stones...He gets paid well enough to know its a pantomime. Edited by Kosowski (23 Feb 2014 3.39pm)

Fans are an unfiltered collection of people whose only connection...In many cases, is the club they support. For every hundred of them you are going to get your noisy ones, quiet ones, arseholes, gentlemen/ladies/trouble makers/idiots and so on. When the idiots choose to join up together for their 'banter' then things can get out of hang.....Same as it ever was, different day, same s***. That's just the reality of the situation. Making appeals to some mythical idea you have of what a supporter of Palace should be is going to hold no actual weight with the people who are different to you. You might as well ask a monkey or Wayne Rooney to explain general relativity. As for people arguing on Hol.....We have been doing that since....When since I've been on here anyway and it strikes me as nothing out of the ordinary. Edited by Stirlingsays (23 Feb 2014 3.47pm)

I suspect she wont ever have to worry about earning anything. Or that she'll lose a wink of sleep about what a few hundred people chanted about her in obvious humor, in the unlikely event she is ever made aware of it.

Humour is debatable. I don't mind swearing chanting the usual football banter and letting my kids experience this I don't think it's bad for them this is a personal opinion, I wouldn't want them to hear about a girl being called a slut, and yes I realise the whole Ron Noads mother song makes me hypercritical,I even then I sing is a boar when with my kids. But calling a 19 year old girl a slut is just wrong IMO. I liken it to when a fan said he hoped Carlo Nash's wife got raped equally as crass, admittedly the shouter was put straight.
