Just seen TP on the box thanking Everton for providing everything from hotel to training facilities and meals for the Palace squad when they arrived up in Liverpool for the match that was subsequenlty called off. Was that only for the team Tony? Anything for the supporters who missed paid work and paid hard cash to get to the ground for a match that a responsible Everton should have postponed much earlier.

This doesn't even make sense. What's your point? Is it Everton's fault the game got called off?

I expect there are a fair few pissed off with the called off matches. However, the weather has been bad. I think that fans should call for at least 24 hours notice of these things but there would still have to be some kind of emergency called off clause within that. It has been worse lower down the leagues.

Everton wanted the game on, the referee wanted the game on, the police didn't because of falling debris just before the game.

Quite why an apology is needed I don't kno. Plymouth didn't have to apologise when they called off our game a few years ago when Palace fans were 3/4 of the way there in snow & ice.

The club are supposed to announce it this week. So that looks like it's going to be Friday then.

I fail t see why Everton should apologize, they were inconvenienced just as much as we were, and as I understand it they were perfect hosts to our club after the postponement.

Very disappointing for the brave souls who made it all the way up there but realistically, given the awful weather there was always going to be an element of doubt. As it happened, the weather won in the end but as I understand it, the decision to call the game off had nothing whatsoever to do with Everton or the referee.

Everton extended hospitality to our team but really couldn't have done much for supporters at very short notice beyond perhaps offering a cuppa tea and a pie and directions to the quickest and safest way home for those already in the ground?

The only people who could have known how bad it was in Liverpool ALL AFTERNOON, were those in Liverpool. The weather was very bad and due to get worse and there was an expected crowd of 35,000 people due at the game. It was not the fault of the weather but those who were up there and knew how bad it was and hao much worse it was going to get. Not rocket science. With a gale on the way who can honestly say they could reasonably guarantee the safety of the crowd/ A non brainer. Everton must feel something is ammiss as they have apologized and helped the Palace squad out. Falls short tho'. What about the rest who were not forwarned of the obvious? Stop being apologists for a very irresponsible episode.
