In Serie A, they are able to name 12 players on the
substitutes bench. If this rule was brought in, do you think it would be beneficial for a team like Palace??

I think it would be a decent idea, with a chance for a few youngsters to be named on the bench and possibly end up with first team experience in the Prem.

What do you guys think?

In my opinion, I don't. I can't think of a single game this season where we've been so comfortable that we'd throw a youngster on for some experience, let alone a run of games like that.

All it would do, in my opinion, is benefit the top sides. They'd be able to have 6 top attacking players and 6 top defensive players on their bench and throw on those most applicable to deal with the situation at hand. The smaller clubs don't have that luxury.

Ah do see your point there, there would be a huge gulf in quality between top sides benches, compared to the bottom halves. Could end up with stock piling of players as well for top teams, meaning youngsters chances of progression would be limited.

The problem would be that only half of them would fit in our dugouts.

It's a good idea and at least more players have a chance of being played.

They should have an extra sub spot specifically for young players who have come up through the academies

Can't see why you'd need to put 12 subs on the bench, tbh. There's room enough for what you need, already.
