Hello, fellow football fans!

I am here as part of my research into a new project, looking at ways to help supporters reduce the cost off attending modern day football.

Would you mind taking a moment to complete the attached simple survey.

We are looking at potential ways to help football supporters reduce theirs costs of attending football matches and your responces would give us valuable feeback on what is important to fans who do travel to games, home and away, however often.

Many thanks.

Reduce your travelling costs by asking Mr.Parish for a hand out or to be more in tune with us americans, ask for a subsidy. Now if you lived in the States you would also stand a chance of getting food stamps with which to defray your expenses because our president does not like to see the marginalized placed at a disadvantaged.

How about not postponing games at stupid o'clock times for a start as the number 1 suggestion.

I was looking to travel with a friend and our wives to the Newcastle game in March by train and make a long weekend out of it as we had done for the Manchester City game at the end of December. Rail companies are obliged to publish their timetables 12 weeks in advance. East Coast were also doing a special promotion it would have cost £20 each return.(it is now around £97 each) We decided against booking in case the game was to be televised and moved to say 4.00pm on a Sunday afternoon which we would have not been able to make. i sent an email to the Premier League asking why the televised game timetable could not be announced 12 weeks in advance. I received the following reply
Thanks for your email.

The match changes for March will be confirmed around mid-January. It is also worth noting that during the second half of the season fixtures can change at later notice, due to clubs progression in other competitions such as the FA Cup and the Champions League. These competitions take priority over League matches and so matches can sometimes move at shorter notice. This is why the fixture list is produced with the proviso that matches are subject to change, and also why most match tickets do not go on sale earlier than they do.

We’d recommend securing your travel plans as close to the date of the game where possible. I’m sorry that we cannot advise any further at this time.

If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind regards,

Supporter Services.

i believe more supporters would travel to away games if they knew definitively what time games were to kick off
