Looking at the squad we now have I truly believe that we can hold our own in the premiership for at least the next couple of seasons, providing we replace one of our left backs (probably moxey, parr as cover), sign another decent centre back (gabbidon getting on a bit) and maybe the hardest task getting Ince to sign even a short term contract as he obviously sees himself at a bigger club very soon.
Be good if Murray can continue his previous form and let Jerome's loan spell finish end of season.
Would be nice if we could blood a couple of youngsters like Kai Kai & Boateng too.

I think it is likely that Gabbidon, McCarthy, KG and Moxey will be out from the present squad along with Jerome whose loan will finish.

We therefore will need a LB, DM and Striker.

If TP does not believe Mariappa is a decent CB then it is between him and Hunt as to who is Ward's back-up. We may therefore need 2 x CB.

It would be wonderful to have Ince sign permanently for us but if he does not then we will need a replacement winger.

Thomas may or may not retain his place and all depends on his fitness over the next five months.

I have a feeling Gayle may be used as part of a player exchange deal for either Rhodes or Ings - assuming both Blackburn or Burnley do not get promotion.

Of course everything depends on us staying up. However, if we do, I expect TP will put together a damn good squad for next season.

All capable players at this level from what we've seen. How people can write Gayle off after his limited game time (in which he's scored and done well in) is beyond me.

Add KG To that. Very much a pulis player. Dirty work he does goes unnoticed a lot of the time. Attracts attention from other clubs too. Would like him to be offered new contract.

Writing Gayle off is crazy, small minded and totally unjust.

We have a pretty tough run in now. especially compared to a few teams around us. Need to keep this confidence up and take chances and who knows. I'm staying grounded. We bought well, but Cardiff have a similar home run of fixtures we've just had since west ham for example. Then west brom do too after their tricky ones. I'm just so pleased and proud we're in with a shout of survival considering how we started

Agree with that, he does a lot of work covering off the ball that goes unnoticed, because he's not one of the glamour players people seem to think he's anonymous.

We have not outplayed any teams for a whole game yet which means as it stands we will always be struggling. This is a great squad for us but if we want to push on then half will have to replaced with better.

I think you are probably right mate!. If we stay up I think Parish will have to study very carefully with Pulis what its going to take for us to be a comfortably placed club in the future at Premiership level. There are indeed several areas in which we need better quality and this implies spending but how much? I am sure Pulis knows what he wants by now so lets hope the necessary funds will be available.

Forgot about Gayle, I think he's a special player in the making. Can finish with his left, right and head.

Top class:

Ward
Ledley
Ince
Gayle (he will be. I have no doubt)
Chamakh
Murray (IMO)

More than adequate at this level:
Parr
Jedi
Bolasie
Puncheon
Dann
Williams (depends on position)
Speroni
Hennesey
Thomas
Bannan

Adequate
The rest

I believe we need to further strengthen at CB, centre midfield, attacking midfield and left back, possibly also wing as whilst Thomas may be good enough, he's injury prone.

In the summer I think SOK and Moxey may go. Don't think Bannan fits our plans so he might be on his way. Gabbidon could move on.

I'm not sure we need to strengthen up front though.
