does anyone know why there was such a small gap between home and away fans?

I haven't been in the AW for a while as I am mostly in the Holmesdale lower. But I have to say the atmosphere at the back in block W was great today. I will be making my noise there in future.

Does anybody know when and if the Arthur will ever get another 5,000 seats put on top ? Longterm plan, sure. But will it ever happen or will considerations of height and light preclude the neighbours living in Arthurs shadow from ever allowing planning permission ?

Let's see what happens with the Main Stand first shall we; that's still on the back of a fag packet at the moment
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

maybe we should buy the houses behind the Arthur. Buy-to-let or whatever. It would make it easier to get planning permission from the neighbours when we are the neighbours.

About 40 of them x £280k and a bit more if they're split into 2 flats. We would of course need to buy the 1st 4 on the side streets.

Do you then suggest we build a tunnel to accommodate the road that runs in between the Arthur Wait and the houses. As it is a busy road throughout the day and night, I cannot see the Council rerouting the road.

You may not need to do anything to the road if the ground under the concrete terracing was excavated and the stand was built quite high with planning permission. But this is decades away probably and those houses cost more than Anfield terrace houses. Buy to let is a decent business consideration but it's so far ahead and such an amount of cash in bank needed I can't see it happening unless an ownership change is pretty major financially.
