Any neutral watching the Arsenal game yesterday needs no telling of the (away) Palace fans' support - simply put, it is vociferous and passionate.

But, given our lauded reputation, our homes games are decidedly quiet. Perhaps it depends on where you are seated (I am on the Arthur Wait), but the only unanimity seems to be before and after a game (depending on the result, of course). I exclude The Holmesdale Fanatics because they are in a league of their own. I am aware that we carry many 'plastics'/fickle supporters, but should it make much of a difference?

I feel that our away support has earned us our reputation and that our home lets it down. Does anyone else agree?

Our home support is still above par for the league, IMO. But I do feel that despite greater numbers, the support seems to have been diluted somewhat. Maybe some of those that used to sing more feel a bit awkward now, with newcomers all around who mainly sit in silence. I don't care, personally, not like I know these people

No!

Away supporters are always more vociferous as they are usually the more committed, collected together in a small area and have often travelled great distances at great expense and want to fully enjoy the cameraderie, beer and day out.

Lot of attention drawn to fans at Emirates (possibly by some relatively inexperienced away supporters who made the short trip across London, but wouldn't make it further afield).

But if you have travelled extensively, you will know that home supporters are notoriously quiet and that in comparison to others, the Palace home support is amazing!

Away fans always make more noise than home fans, for the reasons salop gives.

However Selhurst, compared to the vast majority of prem grounds, is one of the loudest in the division.

Away support always outsings the Home support. (Except when they come to selhurst)

We haven't been out sung yet at home this season apart from maybe Fulham amazingly, they were 4-1 up and I think The HF were probably too distracted plotting the protest at Holloway. In Block G where I am it's not great to be honest, most things fizzle out after a one line.

Away support is always better. It is the bulldog spirit, and the fact the all the supporters are together in a relatively small area.

Lots of singing and chanting in the family stand but generally feels as though we never start anything- comes like a wave from the Fanatics..lots of random shouters and screamers though so it always feels like a great atmosphere but would be nice if we started the chants every now and again IMO

Think it's varied a bit; I was in the Arthur Wait for both the Sunderland and Newcastle games and the Sunderland one was louder all the way through, with loads more people in the Arthur singing.

Get one of these & you'll soon have the family stand rocking.

Yes, away support tends to be better of course. Tighter group of more hardcore fans.

But it does feel like - at home - we have underachieved as supporters for most of the season. On the other hand a few times when we have just scored it has been absolutely amazing.

To be honest we haven't really had much to roar about. If we had played some great expansive football and scored a few goals it would have been different. I reckon it's going to improve because I am convinced Ince and Ledley are going to give us the spark on the field that will spark the supporters off the field. We are all geared up for it and waiting for our chance.

I sit in block Y of the AW near to the front and i stand sing n shout without a care for who is around me,have noticed a few more singing in and around me but maybe only coz they get/need a bit of encouragement......especially when it comes to "we're the arfur we're the arfur we're the arfur over here".......love that mix up with the Holmesdale i really do,along with the "glad all over".
Sitting inbetween the HF n AW i get the best of it all.....just need a few of these that bring flask's n sandwiches to the ground with em to open up their throats n let the songs out.
