with scientists on the brink of cracking regeneration, a lot of football managers are going to be facing some agonising selection problems.

Will the new rejuvenated dave swindlehurst be good enough for the current palace squad?

Would John Sewell reclaim the number two shirt?

I'm currently training as a molecular biologist and geneticist. Unfortunately there's a lot of legislation preventing me using modern cloning technologies to create my own team of Alan Lees.

No chance - he had too much hair and not enough tattoos.

Moustaches have been banned at Selhurst Park since a ball boy tragically died from asphyxiation trying to rush the ball back to Eddie McGoldrick in the 88/89 season.

...looked a lot like Tony Cascarino didn't he, fairly clumsy, but knew how to score.

Of course. Would of scored Jerome's chance today, necked 10 pints after the game and still played the part of the plumber in a 70's art film in the evening.
Used to work in the newsagents in Heathfield Rd, Keston for a while in the late 80's. Grumpy bugger in all honesty but it was well before the big money came into the game and was probably wondering how he went from being admired by 1000's to serving spotty kids wanting blackjacks, fruit salads and a Beano.

In the woods there grew a tree. And a fine fine tree was he.
