After inactivity in transfer market until yesterday, we have confirmed Hennessey and are close to signing Ledley, Dann and loan signing of Ince. All sound good, except I had not believed a goalkeeper was high on the agenda right now.

What does concern me is all the rumours surrounding possible exit for Bannan and Bolasie. Bolasie in particular has been playing well and although erratic does create goals. If signing Ince would mean Bolasie exit, I would be happier if Ince did not sign for us.

In a way, it is an easier decision to buy and sell if we are playing badly. But, as we have been in good form and have had some good results. I hope the new signings do not destabilise the squad and the first team.

This. Bolasie isn't going anywhere. Bannan likely is. Managers have a right to build teams around the sort of player they value, particularly if they've proven themselves the way TP has. I like Bannan and personally, I'd both keep him and play him. TP would not. I'm fine with that.

I agree with this.

I can see TP asking himself right now,

"Do I think I will use Barry Bannan in the next 4 months? No. Will his value drop because of this? Probably. Will I use Jonny Williams? I don't know. Is his price more solid and not drop this Summer? Probably."

TP is ruthless and will just see any of them the same as anyone else. The fact Bannan has one of the best touches, control of the ball and accuracy into the box might mean nothing because he's a bit short for a central player and not a winger in the way Punch, Bolasie, Ince, Zaha types of players are.

I agree Syd. Bannan is not a big loss if A. we replace him and B. he's just gonna sit on the bench.

There's no place for him in TP's starting line up.
