Recent Form can help us get good late signings

Can't help thinking that our recent form has made us more attractive to new players. Also, waiting this long, allows deals to be cut on CPFC's budget and terms. Given newsfeed this morning, perhaps CPFC will do late deals, like the ones last season at the end of August 2012 involving Bolasie and Moritz and Phillips and Dobbie in January 2013 which helped the squad improve and get promotion. It will be interesting to see the 25 man squad selected this weekend ahead of the Arsenal game. 1 June 2010 - saved from oblivion by CPFC 2010 27 May 2013 - promoted to Premier League 2013-14 - 11th in PL 2014-15 - 10th in PL 2015-16 - 15th in PL 2016-17 - 14th in PL (and grateful for that!)

Can't help thinking our good present form may in fact make buying anew a bit pointless. What is useful is the chance to move reserve, young, undersused and part players on. Should find out who's worth keeping then. Tom Ince is just going through the motions and enjoying selling himself. Why should a good U21 player be doing hawking around the league? Now, some of those at Wigan......

What we have to do is be careful with signings because the new crop of players could potentially harm the confidence of the ones currently playing. We do have a fairly small squad but I feel like we have enough depth that most positions can be adequately filled bar maybe centre back (I am just unsure of Paddy at this level due to fitness and ability)

I agree only on the basis glen murray is back sunday and firing instantly. But hes not and he wont. so I know we need a strong striker at least.

Put like that I can see why the Palace management are keen to keep the fans on tenderhooks. Will they, wont they, should we, can we? How about, no we shouldn't unless we know there is someone out there who do exactly the job required, be available at the price we can afford, fit into our team and is he stop-gap. Yeah, beat a few teams we fancy us beating, at home, before we have a tougher run in. Put ourselves in the position where we are QUITE A BIT more likely to survive the drop, THEN don't sign anybody. What a great policy. Plateau and risk going backwards? Excellent.

What you need to do is improve (within financial reason), because the risk/reward stakes and probability are now more in our favour. There is less reason to hold back investing following the Stoke & Hull wins, not more.

Or if not they surely don't think the fringe players we have are capable of doing as good a job? The only player I can think of that sits on the bench a lot that I have full confidence in if he were to come on is O'Keefe. We MUST bring in reinforcements to freshen things up and help the lads that have done such an amazing job so far. If you sit on your hands in this league you go backwards.

I thought the person saying we don't need to buy was joking? Surely no one could be so moronic as to believe our first 11 will stay injury/suspension free from now until the end of the season. Or if not they surely don't think the fringe players we have are capable of doing as good a job?
The only player I can think of that sits on the bench a lot that I have full confidence in if he were to come on is O'Keefe.
We MUST bring in reinforcements to freshen things up and help the lads that have done such an amazing job so far. If you sit on your hands in this league you go backwards.
