Bound to divide opinion but hear me out. I absolutely love Chamakh, he wins a lot of headers, rarely loses the ball and is ridiculously unselfish, what we lack is someone who can do something with his little lay offs, neither Jerome nor Gayle seem to be that person.[Gayle too weak, Jerome shoots like a donkey, Wilbs can't finish either, please do not call his goal against Wigan "finishing"] I can't see this happening in a month of Sundays but would love to see Puncheon in front of Chamakh, he has a thirst for scoring, perhaps to the point of annoyance, we've all seen him try and take that extra man just to make space for a shot and he has got a good strike on him, if he was in that advanced position i think he could hit the back of the net at least as an interim solution. This would also allow Bannan a place back in the team who i believe is just about the only player we have who can put in a quality cross.

Not the worst idea. But as you said will never happen. Gayle could be that person. We haven't seen him in that position yet.

I think Gayle should play rather than Jerome. At least Gayle can shoot. Think back to Villa Park, Jerome would have run the ball into the corner. It was good to see someone attack the defender and have a shot.

I like it. However, I wouldn't risk experimenting at this point. I'd rather have Gayle out there instead of Jerome.

Greedy? Neil Shipperley!

Totally agree. This was the line-up I proposed in the thread before the Stoke match when Jerome was suspended. Thierry Henry went from an average winger to a clincal front man. Why not see if Puncheon can do the same thing?
Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God. |

To hit the side note of this post, whatever it takes to get Bannan regular minutes! I still don't get Pulis' aversion to the man.
