It struck me today, whats the deal with the 25man squad now the windows open again. Are palace free to name anyone outside the 25 while the window is open?

We are free to play anyone. The new squad will be named at the start of February. Edited by RobertCPFC (01 Jan 2014 9.05pm)

With more players eligible to be included than can be included in the 25 + talk of possible new signings I've had a look at the original 25 and tried to pick out possible changes 1. Neil Alexander *Phillips and Kebe are out *Murray, Wilbraham, Dobbie, Garvan eligible to be included Some players currently in the 25 have not featured much Assuming no setbacks by the end of the window Murray seems likely to be included. Dobbie seems set to be given a chance, I'd half expect to see him play some part in the cup game, and hope Garvan gets a look in too. Wilbraham, I like the guy, not a goal scorer but proved useful in a hold up role when defending a lead against Stoke, Thomas has decent reputation and experience McCarthy and Hunt, not sure where either are in terms of recovery from injury or if they'd be able to compete for a place at the moment. Grandin hasn't been given much of a chance, but is behind Bolasie, Puncheon, Thomas and we have players able to cover the wide positions in Bannan, Williams, possibly even Parr, Moxey and Gayle. so... I think that Murray will get one of the 2 spots available, possibly one for either Garvan or Dobbie. If we get another striker and a centre half in I think Grandin and either McCarthy or Hunt will miss out. Feel free to point out anything I've missed or got wrong or if you have different ideas.

We've got 2 free spaces from where Phillips and Kebe have left. I'd imagine Grandin and McCarthy will be dropped too. Everyone else I believe deserves their place (or a chance to prove if they haven't been used much i.e Jack Hunt & Jerome Thomas) So that's 4 free spaces. I would imagine Murray and Wilbraham will take 2. Then 2 new signings will take the others. If we only get 1 signing, Dobbie will be opted in. If we somehow manage 3, Wilbs will be left out.

You do not need 3 keepers, as that is the one position where you are allowed an emergency loan outside of the windows. Failing that you put one of the youngsters on the bench.
