Does any one remember a night match against TR when a certain Alan Rogers was playing left back for them and was subject to a very bad tackle from one of our boys ?. A bloke from the away section entered the field of play going mental, spoke to Rogers and then was bundled off the pith by about half a dozen stewards who tried to drag him out only for said bloke to start knocking 6 shades of s*** out of them.
Me and my mates had met the guy in the Clifton before the game and he told us Rogers was his nephew and that he was on a 12 hour pass from Richmond house, where he was finishing his sentence for gun running! Well its a small world because i met the fella a few weeks back in Menorca. He is still a lunatic but generally a very nice bloke.

During the 70's and 80's Tranmere used to play a lot of home games on Friday nights because they were loosing fans to Liverpool and Everton.

Kenny Sansom made his debut in one of these games, about 1975 I think we lost 2-0
