My favourite haunt. Was gutted when it was pulled down and replaced by one less than half the size. Not only a great game here [Link] but some cracking views of the terrace as it was.

That was always my starting end of the ground, when you were able to walk round to the Holmesdale in the second half but is was always my prefered end.
........................Then along came Johnny Byrne! and the rest, as they say, is history..................... |

My first game was in 65 so I remember the terrace prior to that one which I think was built after the 69 promotion along with the Park Road terrace being converted to the Arthur Wait. From memory entrance to the Whitehorse was via old corrugated turnstile huts then we walked/scrambled up the back of the grass slopes to get to the terrace, don't recall such luxury as steps or concrete paths!

So my terrace was only 12 years old when it was demolished? I never knew that Mr Y. I am now starting to understand some of the animosity still directed towards a certain Ray Bloye.

I started going to Selhurst in 1963. There was grass at the top of the Holmesdale and the Arthur Wait stand didn't exist... that was terrace with grass at the top. Even the main stand had terrace at the bottom (called the enclosure). I never felt the urge to go down the whitehorse end for some reason.
