Who were the biggest boozers? Don't defame anybody, but back up with real anecdotes. Wasn't Johnny Byrne a big drinker which affected his weight issues? How many stories of players going out on big benders?

Don't know about drinkers, but Alan Lee was on 10 Marlboro Lights when he played for us.

On Alan Lee - his new haircut doesn't suit his ability.

Whatever happened to my son Tommy Black

Can anyone seriously mount a challenge to Razor Ruddock?

He "raised the bar" as it were.

I regularly used to see Jimbo Cannon in the chinese at coulsdon, looking the worse for wear on a Saturday night, but in those days there was much to celebrate.

I get the impression that Ruddock is on the p1ss permanently and can shift a mean quota.

Most Saturday nights in Patricks, Beckenham is where you'll find the current staff having a drink. I think paddy likes one or two?

I remember seeing a lot of the Palace players of the day in The Rose and Crown? at crown point, crown dale back in the mid to late 70's. Peter Taylor was one, this used to be on a Friday night when the team were playing at home the next day. They were generally on the brandies though, not pints so that's ok.

Very rarely in there now. Always in there under Burley.

You're right about Byrne (RIP)he used to frequent the Norwood Sports Club. What about Paul Hammond who used to drink on his own in Railway Telegraph in TH.

lo Selhurst silva felix, lo Selhurst cara nutrix, viget, vigeat, vigebit! Best team:- Jackson; Gilbert, Evans, Cannon, Sansom; Hughes, Kember, McNichol; Byrne, Holton, Wright.

Mark Dennis deserves a mention for boozing and coke use. Quite a sad story in many respects
