I really have to vent spleen on a 'same old subject'. Came into work today to talk to one Brighton fan who pretty much agreed with me that their game was rubbish against a pretty awful looking Newcastle team and they also admitted they thought it was a dive that led to the sending off (I thought it was although admit that I may be biased on this one too so not so much stating this aspect of it as 'fact'). However, one very outspoken colleague came in and the conversation went something like this: Him: "Did you see the game on Saturday?" The conversation sort of ended there. I needed to post this somewhere because I am angry at how utterly deluded their plastic supporters are (he was a Leeds fan until the Amex was built). He was also crowing that the Amex wasn't even full (weird boast) so he should easily be able to get tickets for the Arsenal game. By the way, he also supports Arsenal as well as Leeds and Brighton so it's all good for him. Unless Swansea knock them out then "The Arsenal Game" would be a bad title to give that one.

I only saw the last twenty minutes of their game, by which time Newcastle were down to ten and it was finished as a match but I don't really think they dominated the game, more that Newcastle were complete sh!t. On another note, Pardew is getting found out and so soon after signing that massive contract, I wonder how long before their fat chairman will be handing useless Pardew a fat cheque to go?

Clearly he's one of thousands of plastics that currently go to the Amex, I see loads of them at train stations down where I live, Mums,Dad,Kids all in shiny new shirts and training tops, They will all melt away eventually but I fear they are on the way up to the Prem!!!

You're right. The two colleagues of mine who had season tickets and Goldstone and Withdean are both actually fairly clued up and not too biased. I guess I'm not in a great position given that I have never been able to afford a Palace season ticket, although I watch a lot of non-league football and have been to around 300 football matches which does give me some kind of grounding in the mechanics of football etc, but you could argue I'm as bad as the plastics. Perhaps I shouldn't throw stones! But I did watch the same game of football as my colleague on the television at the weekend and I honestly thought my local non-league team would've shown both of them up on Saturday.

I had the Brighton win as past of a 5 game acca, so was pretty happy with the result at the time (although the clowns let me down later after trhe rest had all come in). I think Ameobi had to go (although the first booking was harsh), but it was bad to see the Brighton player go down, roll like he'd been shot, look up to see if the ref was watching, then put an extra roll or two in for good measure - he ought to be ashamed of himself

He had to go given that the ref thought there was contact, but in the replay I think you could've got a Rizla...or double decker bus, between the players. I'd be surprised if the fabric on their shorts even made contact. But that's after seeing it once live and one replay and it was only the replay that made me think it was a dive. I thought the same as the ref did when it first happened to be fair to him.

There's a saying that you should never argue with an idiot as they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience. I was starting to get quite wound up and decided to let it go before I started shouting across the office just out of hatred for the Weed! Last season, every week where Brighton were above Palace in the league the table was printed out and stuck on the door I have to walk through. I have risen above it and didn't even rub in the 3-0 win this season. I just smile at them each week. Occassionally, when I do feel a bit smug though I say "I reckon Brighton have got a good chance of staying up this year" just because I'm a tw*t.

I said it on Twitter and will say it here too, the only injury that rolling about on the floor will cure is 'being on fire'.
