I am just about to order the new Crystal Palace shirt. And I thought it would be really nice to have "Cannon" on the back.

Does anyone remember what number he had on his shirt?

Regards,

// Joakim

And since I also think Kevin Mabbutt was one the best Palace player ever: if anyone know which number he had: Great!

Cannon made his debut at 6.
He wore several numbers early in his career but as Teejay said it was 5.

Mabbutt started at 9 but mainly 10.

PS in those days a number usually went with a position.

Unlike AKINBADBUY 55.

thought Billy Gilbert was 6 ?

Cannon made his debut in 1971 at right back, so I think he was number 2 then but switched to number 5 in about 73/74

I seem to have added a yard or two - still a great strike
