Just reading some of these little stories on here, and theres some great memories, and some slightly boring ones... It got me thinking though, what were MY greatest Palace memories and moments from my past 29 years supporting the club....

After a lot of thought, one game inparticular really stands out as being the most memorable for me. Some of you may recall better than others, it was a late September evening, and the weather was suprisingly warm for that time of year, and the mighty Palace met our biggest rivals in a hugely significant meeting for lots of reasons. Mainly, if I recall, Brighton had just been promoted from L1 as champions, and had just settled in to their brand new shiny stadium which they appriotely names the Mansex.
We headed down to the south coast knowing that Brighton had never lost a league game at their new ground, and what with their bright start to the season I remember feeling genuinely worried that we would go there and get turned over.
The prospect of being the first team to win at our biggest rivals new stadium was not the only spice added to the occasion. During that pre-season, we knicked their star striker, FFS Murray, for NOTHING! Leading up to the match I kept having a dream of a Murray 90th minute winner, sending the Palace faithful into ecstacy! Imagine that. Little did I know that would be near enough on the money!!
So, down to Brighton on a sunny afternoon, tensions rising, and arriving into Brighton Station to a barrage of gay people! After managing to follow the police escort, hands behind my bum the whole way, I finally got to the stadium and straight in for a couple of cheeky beers before the off.
The palace fans were in incredible form, non stop singing even when we went one down early doors. It looked bleak at this point, and for a period of the game after they scored we couldnt get hold of the ball and looked very vulnerable. We did pick up the pace towards the end of the half, but couldnt quite do enough to get a goal back. Second half however saw a brilliant palace display, Zaha, Williams, both teenagers at the time, were bossing the match. They were awesome that night.
It got to about 10 mins to go, and we were pissing all over these b*stards, super paddy had a header off the line, and then Zaha went close. Then the magician himself, then picks up the ball, beats one, beats 2, past the third, and... ECSTACY!! I just remember waiting for the net to ripple as everything went in slow motion, then as it did the whole place just erupting, people jumping and going spazzo. What a feeling that was!! The whole Palace end just licked out chorus after chorus of We Love You whilst the batty boys watched on.
I remember thinking to myself "yes, weve f*ckin drawn, brilliant!!!", and I think I shared most peoples thoughts on that, it felt like a great reult. But then, 1 minute to go, and I think it was a guy called Parr, or Park?, a tidy little Norweigen fella, gets in behind the left back and knocks it across for Ambrose to scramble it in!!! Not the tidiest goal, but seeing Dazza run past the Albion fans giving it the old ear-cup was just priceless!!
By this point the Palace end was going f*ckin beserk!! The gay boys were in disbelief. They were just minutes away from surrendering their new home to their biggest rivals, and they truly beleived they were now bigger than us at that moment. This was supposed to rubber stamp this for them. And it had all gone terribly wrong in the space of 10 minutes. Chants of "1-0 and you f*cked it up!!", WOOOOOAAAAAHHHH!!! Could it get any better than this I thought......
Yes. Yes it could...
How?, I hear you say... Well, Anyone remember this.... "FFS MURRAY!!!".
1 minute into injury time, we`re screaming for the ref to blow, and Ambrose picks up the ball down the left. A neat 1-2 with Scannell later, and FFS Murray finds the ball at his feet about 20 yards from goal. He took a couple of little touches, ot of his feet, bends it round the keeper, and yes, you guessed it - FOR F*CK SAKE MURRAY!!!!!!!!!!!! In an instant, the boo boys silenced, ego`s crushed, and the Mansex empties. In seconds... F*cking priceless! We went f*cking crazy, celebrating like I have never experienced before at a palace game. It was magical. A hollywood script writer could not have penned this, surely!

3-1!! At the Mansex! First team to win there! FFS Murray!

What a night! One ill never forget.

If only you could go back in time, ay...

I remember it well.

Is this a five minute argument, or the full half hour? [Link]
