What a joke it was when he was appointed our Manager. For me it was the worst period of all time to be a Palace fan. Sadly at the time I could not register my disapproval on a forum like this, but I did manage one act of sabotage during his "reign" which was to spit on his back as he came out of the dugout. In those days the pitch entrance was the middle of the Main Stand. I doubt that he would have made it to the dugout if he had to walk from the corner entrance as it is today. He was booed everyime he managed us and was sacked fairly quickly but too late for me!

For a relative youngster like me, it's hard to imagine quite just how stupid a decision that was. Happened long before I was aware of the delights of supporting this club but when you look at it in the cold light of day, even now, it's one of the worst appointments in history. Anywhere.
