I haven't seen many Easter Island statues do that! Parish worked his nuts off to build a successful business. Then, the crazy fool, he shared his money with us, miserable schlubs like you and I, by investing in the club we love. In that sense, Parish is the original Holmesdale Fanatic. He's probably got a massive drum in his garage and secretly dresses in black. We benefit from his money. I would never criticise Parish as I couldn't do what he has achieved. ‘’I want to speak on behalf of the players, because what you've done for us as supporters this year has been absolutely incredible." "We'll need your support next year as well, we depend upon you." -Roy Hodgson It is on the Palace website [Link]

We got lucky the stars aligned and we got promoted at the right time but parish used his money to save our club not as a business investment.

Very good point, my friend, Est1905 Yes, I was a bit simplistic. That's me all over I'm afraid. I do think Parish is a hero though. I quite like Simon Jordan too. I chatted with him once about his book. Well, I say chatted, it was 99 per cent him talking and me listening. I did get to say 'um' and 'ha ha' and "i agree' But fair play to Jordan too. He built a business and put money into Palace. Mind you, I met a bloke in the Two Brewers once and as a joke I said he looked a bit like Simon Jordan. He threatened to punch me! Good grief. I never knew Jordan was so unpopular. Originally posted by est1905

Then at the end in crucial games everyone is together, we get the results, we survive. We’ll see how it goes with silence and booing. It’s worth the experiment. We’ll get promoted back no problem. On we go.

I think this might be the time to mention the Nazi's and Hitler's Germany. There are valid comparisons to make,.....or not

I'm impressed there are so many experts here on buying football clubs and making them into profitable enterprises. There's me thinking it's probably a hard job, with loads of volatile variables (like insecure footballers, greedy agents and fans with insanely inflated expectations). Once again I'm wrong. It's a doddle. Anyone could do it. In fact, I'd have bought Palace myself only, er, I've got flat feet and the doctor said I've got a cute angina. It's me nerves, y'see. That's why I drink and smoke so much Edited by OhthisbloodyPC (04 Sep 2018 5.08pm)
