That still doesn’t address any outcome. Boost awareness? OK, job done. The issue that’s been identified is that there is “systemic racism” so how is that to be addressed? It's not the issue. The issue is the booing. Whether it will have any effect is another debate. Clearly the players hope it will, so why disrespect them? They may be wrong. If they are at least they have tried.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

This sounds like a John Lennon song. Of course not! The fans aren't being told anything! Especially that they are racist. The players are making a gesture to raise awareness of discrimination. If that chimes with someone who harbours racist views sobeit. They will find that themselves.

The PFA asked all it's members whether the players wanted to continue with "taking the knee". The usual stance of the leftie, liberal, WOKE, snowflakes is to stick up for the poor minority so I take it that certain people who were for it will be now changing their view and wanting it to stop. Otherwise they'll be upsetting the feelings of the 20% minority that voted against it!

Footballers are "thick", "greedy", "Marxist", "sheep" or all of these. Despite what the FA, Sky, footballers themselves, club owners, the England manager and captain say - taking the knee before a game is being done to support a Marxist movement hell bent on violence and white subjugation. Immigrants are "gang rapists", "scroungers" and "attack poppy sellers". Black people are "racist", responsible for "knife crime". Any black person killed by the police must have deserved it because they had "violent pasts" and were "drug dealers". Even if they were unarmed, in custody and literally being choked to death by a police officer. Anyone that does not feel that whites are victims and their rights are being violated is a "pinko", "leftie", "commie", "Marxist", "liberal", "woke", "snowflake", "has the IQ of a 4 year old" and is "spoiling the forum" by daring to put forward a reasoned counter argument. Here is exactly what Roy said yesterday about players overwhelmingly wanting to continue taking the knee: "I'm very pleased they were consulted and took the choice. When questions are asked about stuff like this, players are the most important to be consulted. Obviously they feel it's still serving a purpose, and everything that can be done has got to be applauded. I applaud them for deciding on this issue, and I'm 100% behind them". Roy doesn't strike me as a Marxist, Black Power activist or left wing zealot. I suspect he has a high IQ and he knows our players well and why they are doing this. But obviously he must now be demonised by some. I get that taking a knee has a sell by date and will need to be replaced in due course. But to return to the original discussion, booing it will be seen as racist and will shame our club and any taking part. Maybe these demonisers would be more comfortable posting on a site that is more suited and compliant to their world view.

I'm quite comfortable posting on this site when you are the owner you can set the rules. Most of us who object to the virtue signalling are not for racism but against politics in football. By all means players should speak out and work in the community with schools. If they want to support a movement like BLM that's fine but do so away from the match.

You were doing so well until the last line This is THE site for people with a vague connection to Palace, a huge throbbing vein in their forehead and pent up bitterness, fear and hatred. Natural followers of conspiracy theories and natural haters of anything ‘other’. Posts that rock their world view will be met with a ferociousness only matched by a blinding propensity to inaction.
