Would be great if we could try out the new singing section for the cup game might just convert a few of the doubters.

The singing without the HF was sporadic and died out fairly quickly. What you get from the HF is constant singing from the first to last minute regardless of what is happening on the pitch. Constant singing needs to be orchestrated and they do that very well. The HF do not create a great atomosphere by themselves (alone they are not loud enough) but they are a vital catalyst. It is much easier for the rest of us to join in and turn up the volume to create a great atmosphere. Sorry but 'atmosphere' is not created by constant singing regardless of what is happening on the pitch. It is more exciting when it rises and falls with the ebb and flow of the game. Constant singing becomes just background noise which, if it doesn't follow the game, could easily be replaced by the club recording the crowd at one of the big clubs and then constantly playing it over the selhurst sound system

I sit in the Arthur and everyone i spoke to agreed the atmosphere was much improved, and that was before the game started.

Bicycle repair man, how many times have you commented on this thread? 50? You are relentless, almost like Trump bashing out his one sided tweets day after day, and bashing the "fake news". Fake news for you seems to be the CLEAR difference in atmosphere and noise level that the HF bring. Opposition players have said it, our players have said it, our manager has said it, and our chairman has said it. Whether or not they should be moved or not moved to Block E has absolutely nothing to do with an analysis of what they actually bring to the ground and the club as a whole. Performance on the pitch, fan passion, noise level......these are not disconnected, they are related to each other! A loss in one area CAN and DOES affect the other 2. I am sorry but you have very little credibility left on this topic as you simply fail to ever acknowledge anyone else's point of view. Anyone claiming that the HF did not have an impact on the atmosphere at the ground yesterday is crazy. Anyone claiming that noise level and atmosphere at football grounds doesn't have an impact on how the team performs is also crazy, go look at games played behind closed doors such as England vs Croatia and sit through that 90 minutes then come back to me. Time to face reality: A - Decision has been made by Parish. I am sorry for fans affected by this but its happening and its time to move on.
Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha. |

Well I'm watching the game again now and not on a particularly high volume and we sound superb, constant noise for 90 mins and everyone in sync. No one can say with a straight face that the HF aren't a massive boost to a) our atmosphere and b) the positivity in Selhurst. I respect that it's hard on the 400 Block E fans but I think we really would go to another level there with the roof amplifying the HF's noise and it spreading accordingly, maybe even to Blocks F onwards. Surely that has to be a positive for us when weighed up Sorry but I cannot take seriously anyone who downplays the HF, especially when comparing the games without them to Saturday. When in SP in my seat in Block B found myself beaming when watching the Arthur all singing and bouncing along again and the lads giving their all for the team in front of me. Felt like Palace at our best again Having not been at the game, I can’t comment on the difference that having the HF back made. I would be very surprised if it didn’t significantly improve the atmosphere, but that’s not really the point. The question for me is whether we are a community based club where there is a real bond with the fans or a faceless plc treating its fans as replaceable customers and ready to throw one set under the bus in an attempt to increase it’s marketing appeal.

BRM - great. You love going to Selhurst to watch your team play football. Then the end of the Main Stand, or the Whitehorse, or the Arthur, would be fine for you...and your going to be offered a preferential deal! You must be cock a hoop with that! Sit back and enjoy the game! Relax and keep your keyboard quiet! Let the rest of the world move on!

They will be at the back of block E no doubt for the Grimsby game and I'll be involved for some of that.

Although I'm guilty of it, best to not rise to his bait. His posts are infuriating. A suitable compensation package from the club to those effected would put an end to this and we can then move on.
