Plus obviously GIVE the fans behind the goal a full refund and £500 to move somewhere else in the Homesdale or wherever. Most of them dont sing anyway. And remember £100K is a WEEK'S pay for Bentekers....bloody joke.

You said "I presume you include Steve Parish in that comparison" (to Easter Island statues) er, yeah, you mean the same Steve Parish who worked for decades to build up a business, risking everything. Then took the fruits of all those years and years of hard labour, and invested them in Crystal Palace? I haven't seen many Easter Island statues do that! Parish worked his nuts off to build a successful business. Then, the crazy fool, he shared his money with us, miserable schlubs like you and I, by investing in the club we love. In that sense, Parish is the original Holmesdale Fanatic. He's probably got a massive drum in his garage and secretly dresses in black. We benefit from his money. I would never criticise Parish as I couldn't do what he has achieved. You argue like my wife as she likes to change the argument when losing too.

It’s just a response to Stirlingsays’s comparison to cpfc being the parent and the HF the offspring. You can find analogies or comparisons all you like in both sides in lots of problems. The club are definitely at fault for half &rsing this and not actually consulting anybody which is true, and the HF are possibly at fault but what exactly we don’t know atm.

it has been characterised as a broken promise to the HF from Parish. I don't believe that, but I do believe he probably intimated a willingness to help them that he subsequently didn't feel it was worthwhile delivering on. when I read the club statement this week, I actually thought they were trying to hold out an olive branch -- "we'd love them back if the right solution can be found". but in trying to explain the club's actions, they made foolish implied criticisms of the HF. and the HF, who probably feel very frustrated right now, saw it as a reason to vent. personally I think the HF have been more positive than negative for the club.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

Let's face it, if it was for any other reason than accommodating the hf no one would have a problem. There's a lot of jealousy to them from other fans because they get special treatment and prioritised over other fans. Should they get special treatment ? well yeah they probably should. Would I want to make sure my black laundry is clean every game, no, do I want to lug a drum to every game, no, do I want to spend my free time painting a bed sheet, no, do I want to get at the stadium at 9am laying flags under everyone's seat, no. Does it make them better supporters and fans than anyone else, no, but they do do a lot and probably takes up alot of their free time to create an atmosphere that all of us feel the benefits of.

I quoted one of your statements back to you. Then answered it. You sir, argue like the man from Virgin Media's help desk, who is very selective about the problems he can tackle! Originally posted by Midlands Eagle
