I was merely remarking that they were openly on view rather than "assimilating into the host culture". The Jewish population in this country have never posed a threat I believe, whereas the Muslims are a different kettle of Gefilte fish.
Not been to Palestine then?
Hitler was wrong about their cleanliness as well. Very tidy.

And if you ask plenty of Muslims, Catholics and Hindus (other religions are available) they'd say they abhorred violence too.
If you think that all religions within this country are the same in terms of threat then I think you're deluded......The internal security budget would beg to differ. I remember an ICM opinion poll of Muslims that said that four out of ten believed that Sharia law should be introduced into parts of the country.....That's a driect wish for a culture with a culture. Shortly after the 7/7 bombings an ICM opinion poll stated that a fifth of Muslims had sympathy with the 'feelings and motives' of the suicide bombers who attacked London last July 7.....Though hardly anyone agreed with the violence itself. Now it's stuff like that which makes me feel uncomfortable and.....I've never met a Jew or other religion that posed these problems. We have problems with Islamic radicals here....That's nothing against Islam or its peaceful followers.....It's just a recognition of reality.

Edited by nickgusset (27 May 2014 11.47am) I would say that your previous post stating, 'And if you ask plenty of Muslims, Catholics and Hindus (other religions are available) they'd say they abhorred violence too.'......That implies exactly that. If it doesn't mean that please tell me Nick what exactly do you mean?

Shokin:
And what party did this guy use for that....Labour.
That guy who wrote the piece for the Telegraph about Rahman has written three other pieces attacking him as well as producing a Dispatches documentary about him. In fact almost all of the negative media coverage of Rahman comes from one source. Personally, from what I've read, there does seem to be something slightly dodgy about his campaign, although there certainly seems to be an anti-left, anti-Islamic edge to the criticisms of him. This is a guy who won, as an independent, in a borough scoring the highest voter turn out in London. It is still a minority Muslim area so you can't put it exclusively down to that either. As for your point about him being ex-Labour, it's slightly missing the mark given that he was ousted by them in the first place! We'll have to wait and see what the recount and inquiry come back with, but from what I can see this is far from a black and white issue. Don't just believe unfounded accusations that seem to make up a lot of what the Telegraph are saying.

It meant what I said. I didn't say they had the same or different levels of threat.

I've yet to meet a muslim or jew who hasn't been anything less than amiable, gentle and friendly. Can't say the same for Catholics and Church of England/Protestant types. Because I've met many more of the latter of course but still...
