Our sporting prowess achievements also disappearing in line with our national decline. Becoming a bit player in the World. It wasn't a warning. It was a statement of fact. We are the sixth strongest economy in the world. That isn't going to change.

Here's another one, closely related to the same subject from April 2018, forecast growth. China has been omitted but it will rank 1 or 2. Edited by europalace (15 Jul 2018 10.48am)

Anyone who has been to India and gone outside the tourist area can see the poverty. What matters for quality of life is the per capita income....in other words how much earned on average per person. That's when the truth about non western countries is revealed.

The UK will have to accept that it can't compete and will fall further behind competing with countries like this unless there is a massive cultural change in the local UK populattion that will need to accept lower pay and higher productivity. Otherwise, we'll continue to see exactly what's decsribed in that news article. That's when the truth about non western countries is revealed.

Growth for now.....I'd agree. But this was about comparing these countries to western nations. Also, automation is going to destroy this advancement for these countries. Investment will re-direct to less corrupt societies. At least in the probable short term.....economic predictions are a notorious unwise hobby in terms of accuracy.
