I sit near someone who is very close to people at the training ground, as he used to work at Palace, he gets team news information and occasionally transfer rumours, some happen, some don’t. Doesn’t mean to say he has any connections to the board. Not sure what point you are making here.

Midlands Eagle, who has a record of being a precious & disrespectful arsewipe when someone criticises his mate Dazza, is being semantic. The board & DF are the ones hiring the manager. If his so called source knew who the manager was a month ago, it’d be as a result of a link to the board somewhere along the chain of command. FWIW, I have it on fairly good record that not only has Lampard not been hired. He was never going to be hired in the first place. But I wouldn’t pass that off as a fact. Watching grown adults still defend this clown on these forums is utterly tragic. Grow up.

Does it really matter if someone claimed to have a tip off about the next manager, even if it was a complete fabrication? We were going to have a thread dedicated to the possible identity of the next manager anyway.

And then claim Howe is getting the job and then that Sean Dyche is buying a house in Beckenham and then that Lampard is 100% the manager and it will be announced last week, he will be pulled on it. And when we’re onto the 15th imminent arrival that doesn’t materialise, despite dazza passing it all off as fact, if people are seriously gonna give others stick for pulling him on it, they can do one. Unless someone magically arrives with zillions to buy the top forwards then we are in our normal position of having to defend like mad and rely on breaking out. Look at the tables for preceding seasons in the PL, the bottom 3 slots are occupied by teams conceding most. So defensive organisation is a must have. Attractive entertaining football is simply dumb, you get up there and they pulverise you in return. If you do create any chances they have to be taken, not like us.
