If again. Why has every team he has managed so far in the Premiership done well for 4 or 5 games and then spiralled downhill ? As for us being lucky to be where we are then so are Liverpool due to VAR and the fact Man City aren't too bothered this this season. Agree. The powers that be can’t wait for liVARpool to win the league and Man City have conceded this year to bounce back again. Agree on your point on Silva there. What was so obvious and analysed so much wasn’t addressed. Do that and he’d probably be alright. My Palace point is directed at the owners who play kerplunk with the squad every summer. Hopefully they’ll eventually get ahead of this or sell to people who will.

Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

I seem to recall that nine years ago when the gang of four rescued the club that they said they were unwilling purchasers and were only doing it as a last resort and would be custodians until a willing purchaser could be found. It seems to me that three of the original four have stuck by their original promise and have either vastly reduced their stakes or sold out completely with only Steve Parish now seemingly happy running the club and wanting to hang on to his stake Spot on. He knows he can sell up and will be very comfortable regardless and let's not kid ourselves, he gets a hefty wage off this, regardless of what the books say. The Americans came in with money to spend, trouble is, parish wanted to spend it his way. The one constant over the last several years is parish. Sure, it be great having a fn at the helm, but a businessman makes more sense to me. We were in trouble so many times and bought our way out and it worked but look at what we are paying now for it. This window is a fantastic oppertunity to buy and invest in next season with the possibility of our highest ever finish, which also equates to more prize money. Let's say we buy a RB, Striker this window but pay over the odds, say 10 million - ok, we crack on and finish 7th, 8th, compared to 11th, 12th, that's 8 mil extra prize money and 1, 2 mil extra tv money pays for it. I dunno, it just feels like the one thing parish said he didn't wanna do, stand still and stagnate.

Palace really need another Winger like Bowen and RB like Ferguson. Even if we could sign Bowen and Ferguson it would be a great window for Palace. Bowen would create and score goals. And Ferguson would be a fix and long term solution to AWB. Would even try sign Soares from Southampton as well available for around £5m

I agree with most of what you say although of the gang of four, Parish was always the front man and the one pushing the others and I believe has always harboured ambitions to be heavily involved. He knows he is not independently wealthy enough to get the club where he wants it to be, but he still wants to captain the ship. What do we want as fans, a club run by a fan with slightly less money, or a club like Chelsea with a mega rich owner who is only a fan because he bought the club? It’s a tough call for me, I want to see us buy players, get better and become more successful but I would prefer to keep the South London connection within our club. It would be useful if you explained your second paragraph as I’m not sure where you are coming from with that. Where was the disconnect between Parish and the US over expenditure?

If I agreed with you we'd both be wrong |

I think Valbow hits the nail on the head when he says it feels that Parish is doing the one the one thing he didn’t want to do - standing still and stagnating.
