You said "I presume you include Steve Parish in that comparison" (to Easter Island statues)
I haven't seen many Easter Island statues do that! Parish worked his nuts off to build a successful business. Then, the crazy fool, he shared his money with us, miserable schlubs like you and I, by investing in the club we love. In that sense, Parish is the original Holmesdale Fanatic. He's probably got a massive drum in his garage and secretly dresses in black. We benefit from his money. I would never criticise Parish as I couldn't do what he has achieved. I don't understand all this stuff about being 'ard. It's not 1970, and I'm hoping you haven't got a handlebar moustache and a Tommy Smith hair do. I wouldn't care if the fanatics all looked like Softy Walter from the Beano. They are passionate and committed and very creative. They get off their arse and help the club and they lead the chants. I wish there was a more open policy on chants, but that's a minor criticism. They've taken the lead. Whereas most people have passively sat by going "tut" Originally posted by eagleman13

CPFC really needs to find a way of getting the Ultras back. Anyone who doesn't get what these guys bring to the games are on another planet.

I’m saying, the ‘best atmosphere in the league’ has not translated to the best home record in the league. It’s a s*** home record. Would it be a worse home record without the little drummer boys? No way of knowing 100%. But it’s of little value to the team’s performance. But if the HF believe it does improve the team. Then it is utterly shameful and reflects very badly on them that their ‘solution’ is to wilfully damage the club.

Hodgson commented on the pitch at the end of the season how important and crucial the fans have been and will continue be and how needed they are. Hodgson then last week tried to deny the atmosphere going would be a problem, just like me really. Now Hennessey has said it is an issue and other players will surely be quoted too.

They’ve been seen. I’ve seen the main lads there before going into the ground. So as they’re going as everyone else we have a problem, and a lot of that’s to do with club apathy, which isn’t a problem when they need to move fans out to move families of directors or VIP’s paying more in.

The Club has promised them that they will make it happen. Take this promise as fact, as I know it to be true." That’s what he’s said for any who can’t be bothered to read it and keep posting ‘demands’ and ‘toys out of prams’ because that isn’t how or why this has come to this. You see, there lies the contradiction that makes or breaks both the argument & the article. He states: The HF asked to move to behind the goal. The position they have taken up at Selhurst Park in the early rounds of the League Cup, Julian Speroni’s testimonial etc. At the end of the last season was not the first time that they have asked. They have asked, from what I can work out, for the last three seasons. The Club has promised them that they will make it happen. Take this promise as fact, as I know it to be true. But then goes on to say: “The club, and particularly the chairman, saw merit in this idea and when season tickets went on sale we held back the entire Lower Holmesdale with the intention of looking at it further and hopefully implementing.” I hate to write this line, but that is the only line of that statement from the Club that comes across as completely transparent. Unfortunately, it is then used to kick-start a practical smear campaign against the HF. The issue is the if this part of the Club statement is the only part that is 'transparent' then surely it contradicts this alleged 'promise'? "Make it happen" & "hopefully implementing" are quite different things. I'm not saying either is right or wrong but both can't be true. The Club & the HF should sit down and talk sensibly about options & keep away from social media & the interweb.
Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five! |
