Yes. It's called satire. I was aware! They used to say that satire damaged politicians but no satire could be more laughable than the real Labour Party under Corbyn. Watching Labour MP's trying to avoid saying that their leader is a c*** and people coming on TV to defend Corbyn who have no real idea about politics, are among the most embarrassing things I have witnessed in politics. Labour will get one big hammering and also the poison dwarf in Scotland is going to get a shock too: [Link] Polls suggesting Labour are catching up again. This election looks like it will be about who can get their demographic out. May is banking on a high turnout among older voters to get her big majority, while Labour need to get youth turnout up. A survey recently showed that if only under 40s voted, Labour would win. Thing is, I actually think you'd have to say that Labour has a better chance of raising the turnout, given they have the groundteam, whereas the Tories are almost toally reliant on media as their groundteam is practically non-existent. The Tories are setting themselves up for a serious hubristic fall IMO. Will be a lot closer than people think.

Oh, and I think this may be the best thing I've ever heard a mainstream party leader say...

So criticising sound bites with sound bites. If you want to hear what Labour are about see Dawn Butler on the same page. It's not about the soundbites. It's what he says about his role as leader, not being about detaching yourself from who you represent, but encouraging democratic debate both within your party and in the wider society as a whole. That kind of humility is so alien to almost all our recent PMs: Blair, Brown, Cameron and now May, with her 'strong and stable leadership'. This is a Christian country, and the primary virtue of Christianity is humility. Humility allows you to sympathise with others, and crucially it teaches you to recognise your own faults. We have been lacking that virtue for an awfully long time, and it's good to see someone in politics who at least recognises its importance.

I think it'll all come down to how voters weigh up Brexit (which the Tories give the impression, regardless of reality, of doing a good job) vs everything else (where the Tories are making a right hash of public services, benefit reform etc). As already noted, voter turnout will probably be key. I think the Lib Dems will probably have a decisive impact- probably gain at least some seats, and swing crucial seats by depriving Labour/Tories of votes. And will UKIP's hilariously inept performance see further collapse of their vote? And will their voters bother to turnout, and if so where will they vote? Still a whole lot of campaigning to go.
