There is nothing to be gained from spunking that kind of money on a funeral. Thatcher was probably held in higher regard by other countries. The US, Russia and a begrudging nod of the head by most Europeans. Therefore, i can't help but feel that the TV coverage of this occasion is more for the benefit of foreign TV ( a good little earner for whoever has TV rights to this). Whilst I agree with the sentiment, also by that logic we could have just nuked Buenos Aires and not bothered with the Task Force and saved 266 British servicemen's lives.

There have to be rules of engagement otherwise the world would have been a sea of fire - like Seoul in about half an hour - half a century ago.
