Also, keeping a player at a club against their wishes can bring its own problems and we don't know what's going on behind the scenes. Anyway when Zaha goes that will be truly the start of a new era at the club......probably bring in a new style of football and everything will look different. Things are going to be changing.....and as life rules, change will be s***e for some and beneficial for others. Edited by Stirlingsays (28 Jun 2019 1.09pm) I was counting on them never ever retiring or leaving and staying to play with Schlupp and Benteke or any non scoring forward line or any unwanted surplus players left to loan in August.

The error with selling Wright in 91 to Arsenal, who’d just won the league in 89 and 91 before he went onto win a cup double in 93 and play in Europe etc etc was who we signed afterwards, not that we sold him. Ian Wright was a key component of our team, as was AJ, after keeping one more year on a Prem sage in the championship. AWB is not a key component in our team. We had to sell someone. Better it’s AWB than Zaha or Luka. Now what if it was Luka? Simon Jordan was on Talksport yesterday with the chance to tear into Parish. He didn’t. He agreed with what Parish has done and said similar to me and others have been saying, and that’s from someone experiencing the difficulties of F.C. ownership.

fed up with this idea that he's only not been a part of the Senior squad just Because he's with us, simply not justified, (in this Case) There's Walker and TAA both before him in the pecking order, and yes, Awb is a Better defender than either of them, but he no where near their level from an attacking perspective (yet). Add to that he's had a few opportunites in the England youth setup where he hasn't exactly shined, and you begin to see that perhaps he's not ready for a full international call up (Again yet). He may get a call up while at ManU - and we'll never know if he would have after another season with us, but I think that it's unlikely without an injury to TAA or KW. What we do know, is that if he succeeds at ManU he will do so under a greater microscope, and under greater pressure. This will only help in when playing for england. He's had one full year playing for F*cks sake, let him develop(shame it's not with us). The obsession in this country with rushing through youngsters does me in! Never understood this mentality. No logic in it whatsoever. If you're good enough you're old enough. You admit that he's better than Kyle, so he should be picked for the squad simple as that.

You spend your whole life supporting a club hoping they'll win something. But some supporters would rather premier league survival over a cup win. What's the difference hrolf? There's a huge difference and it's fans like you with this tin pot mentality that enable Parish to get away with being chronically unambitious. The difference is simple: A trophy is forever. If you offered me the fa cup now and guaranteed relegation I'd take it. With this "one more year of survival" mentality it's a self fulfilling prophecy, might as well take some silverware and get it over with.

Does anyone else not find it strange that one of AWBs advisors was Wilfs brother I think called Herve.
“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

The sad truth is an fa cup victory doesn’t build the fanbase and club like it used to when that was the only club match on tv or one of about a dozen every season. A lot of people don’t even watch some of the fa cup finals. Being in the premier league is where it’s at and the place to be now. Charlton were growing alarmingly when they were here. The longer you stay, the more fans you attract and keep. More than you ever will lifting the fa cup which is pretty much ignored by most until the semis or quarters.
