Did some good defending yesterday and said to the guy next to me in the main stand that makes up for the first miss , funnily, they didnt show it on motd, just wanted to give some stat about missed sitters, i think he will score a few in the next games, but gota look at his all round play to be fair, thats why roy picks him! Yeah, hasn"t got many choices granted, but benteke wins most balls out from keeper , brings wilf into play, and im happy with his contribution to the team effort, granted, he hasn"t had much luck this season, but i feel thats about to change! This is true, but if you step back and think of the standard you have to be holding Benteke to in order to think that he's doing a good job, it's so low it's laughable for a £30 million striker.

Yet we still don't play to his obvious strength ... our dreadful corners and terrible crosses don't go anywhere near his head. The only one out of all of them who looks to me less likely to score than Benteke is Hennessey.

Not quite sure why the fact that we don't play the same system as the bin dippers has much to do with it. I think it's more to do with the fact that shooting isn't his strong point. Wilf hasn't scored that many either, but where the Jeff would we be without him?

When we basically swapped Bolassie (spelt wrong probably) and Gayle for Townsend and the Belgium waste of space, it looked like a great deal, can’t remember anyone questioning it. Townsend has been poor, plays on the wrong side , so that he can cut in and shoot, but doesn’t score. I was at st James park when he curled in the free kick against us from 35 yards , where’s he ? But at least he puts in the effort, minimum requirement for a footballer.

Defending is not what we paid £30 mill for and doesn't make up for any miss let alone the first and that is what he was brought in to do. He is showing no sigh whatsoever of scoring or putting in the work necessary to underpin that and by that I mean closing defenders down and actually running with a purpose in the process of this. It must be heaven for a centre back playing against him. His positional sense is dire as is his body language. Roy picks him because at present he has to as there is no one else. You mention the word effort which is as far away as you can get when describing Benteke's game because he only pays lip service to hard work. It's not bad luck he has experienced but a complete lack of desire and application to turn around dire form and justify not only a big price tag but wages of circa £12k a week which, he should donate to charity until he ups his game. I don't expect you to agree with anything I have said as from all your previous posts you clearly can see no wrong in him. He has to get his act together starting with Bournemouth next Saturdsy.tgen continue to the last second of the West Brom game.

As if Benteke wasn’t taking home enough salary under false pretences this week, his match worn shirt from yesterday is for sale on eBay!!!! [Link] Sickens me. As he didn’t break sweat, at least the shirt is nice and clean for whoever might be stupid enough to buy it.
George Courtney, the World Cup referee, everyone is looking at him. When will he blow....? |

before tax bentekkers earns roughly 24k a day, why do you think he would bother selling a shirt for £700. its roughly the same we would spend on a coffee.
