Not happy - 6 game acca currently failing solely because Italy are losing at home to f**king Armenia!

Italy had nothing to play for. Never bet on Italian football.

20:20 hindsight - wasn't bad odds, and made up an almost free money 3/1 (after my 6/1 acca at the weekend) - ah well - was a free £5 bed - nothing ventured, etc.

I honestly think that instead of betting £5 every week plus a possible free £5, you're better off building up a pot and betting larger with fewer teams, shorter odds and more likely outcomes. What do you make over time on these long shots after wins and losses are netted? £15 or £20 spread over a few weeks?

It would be the same 'fun' and you'll notice money growing, whereas a lot of people 'don't notice' small money being lost. The bookies' bread and butter btw.

A couple of people on here are quite good at picking acca's of 5/1 or higher on a bit of a regular basis and I think the Sky offer is quite good if that's your thing, but you'll probably get even better at it by picking 2 or 3 results at higher odds and turning £30 - £60 into several hundred, quite possibly a lot more.

True enough, but I'm still making a few quid, and I never really bet more than that anyway (as I don't like to lose). The only way to win in the longer term is to bet bigger on single games where you reckon the bookies have got the odds wrong - accas are generally a mug's game (and the bookies love them) but they do add interest to a set of fixtures. Anyone who actually sees gambling as a way to make real money in the long term is likely up for a hard fall sooner rather than later - I treat it as a fee in return for the added interest in games. To be honest, the main reason I openend an online account in the first place was that if I walk into a bookies, I'll part with 10 or 20 quid, whereas if I'm clicking buttons, it doesn't seem so bad to part with just 50p or a quid - for me it's the same fun, (and I'm still sitting on around a £50 profit for the season so far) without any real downside

I think i'm the opposite of you. I had to close my online account as the temptation to have a bet was too great so I restrict it to 1 or 2 weekend bets and I have to go down the shop to do it.

Shed loads of options this weekend. It could be the punters weekend, or it could be half and half. Better than 80% against popular opinion.

SWINDON 4/6 v Notts County (Fri 1945)

Newcastle v LIVERPOOL 10/11, 5/6 (Sat 1245) (Newcastle & draw are both 3/1)
(NUFC might get something. All front players available)

West Ham v MAN CITY 8/11, 4/6 (Sat 1730)
(West Ham 9/2, draw 3/1 to use if it's final in acca, esp if ManC score 1st b4 home onslaught)

MOTHERWELL 4/5, 8/11, 3/4, 4/6 v Hearts
(Hearts in real sh1t)

FOREST 8/11, 4/6 v Bmouth
(Forest looking good, especially at home. Bmouth will fade)

WATFORD 1/1, 10/11 v Derby
(Fancy Watford as usual but Derby are in scoring mode)

READING 4/6 v Donny (possible)
(Hmmm. Reading need win after draw at Barnsley & loss at Burnley but other options out there)

PBORO 8/13, 4/7 v Shrews
(Unsure. Shrews 1 of those who upset)

MORECAMBE 5/4, 6/5, 1/1 v afc Wimbledon
(Couldn't be going worse for afc atm)

POMPEY 1/1, 10/11 v Bury (possible)
(Bury in trouble. Pompey building consistency)

SUNDAY BETS

Aston Villa v SPURS 11/10, 1/1, 10/11 (Sun 1600) (Villa & draw are 3/1)

INVERNESS 10/11 v Partick Thistle (Sun 1245) (Partick & draw are 3/1)

Having looked at all that I might just do what you should try not to and go with

ARSENAL 3/10 v Norwich (really should win easily)

CHELSEA 1/4 v Cardiff (really should win easily)

And add 1 from my list (Swindon or Forest) for a 2/1 treble.

Or ARSE, CHELSEA, MAN CITY treble for 9/5 with the in-play option with MAN C vs West Ham at 5.30pm.

Something about BLACKBURN v Charlton is putting me off but the last time a win there was jumping out at me and I didn't bet they were 4-0 up early on.

Man City's away form in 2013 is terrible, and Allardyce always builds teams that are strong at home, particularly against big sides. I'd steer clear of that one.

Took the words out of my mouth.

West Ham strong at home - Very poor odds on City

If anything I'd be more tempted too look at West Ham or double chance with a draw. Some pretty generous odds.

Ditto - won't be going anywhere near Man City on that one (unless it's to lay them on a single)

They're best priced 9/2 to win, or the double chance is just over evens, best priced 5/4.

I'd just avoid it completely - that's a match that could go either way
