Some people use the word, 'genocide' because they deem exaggeration as acceptable if it supports their narrative. It is unfortunate.

Israel is certainly oppressive and brutal as far as Gaza and the West Bank are concerned, but Israel doesn't really want to kill or ethnical cleanse Palestine. That said its not above politically utilising Palestine as a punching bag.

Some people have suggested there is a case to answer, which is a perfectly reasonable question to raise. Legaleagle has provided a persuasive argument as to why it is not genocide which I fully respect, but that does not mean that the question should not be asked. You have, on at least 3 occasions in this thread, compared Hamas to the Nazis. I don't think anyone bothered to pick you up on it, probably because we are used to your emotive and inaccurate use of hyperbole and oversimplification in most of your arguments.

I'm not going to play your game anymore Dave. You can carry on with your insults all you like. Instead if there are any rationalizations within your posts I'll deal with them. You appear to suggest that the question of whether 'genocide' is being committed is a reasonable one. Well, for those asking the 'question' fair enough. Those debates are happening all the time. As for comparing Hamas to the Nazis.....Yes I do. You call it 'emotive and inaccurate use of hyperbole'. I disagree completely. While Hamas are obviously a religious organisation while the Nazis were not we can say that in relation to the Jews....the attitudes towards Jewish perceived characteristics and motivations isn't exactly unsimilar. I could choose from multiple examples but this one from Marwan Abu Ras, a Hamas MP... fits quite nicely the Nazi propaganda on the Jewish race. 'The Jews are behind each and every catastrophe on the face of the Earth. This is not open to debate. This is not a temporal thing, but goes back to days of yore. They concocted so many conspiracies and betrayed rulers and nations so many times that the people harbor hatred towards them.... Throughout history – from Nebuchadnezzar until modern times ... They slayed the prophets, and so on.... Any catastrophe on the face of this Earth – the Jews must be behind it' According to Abraham Foxman of the Anti-Defamation League, 'The Hamas credo is not just anti-Israel, but profoundly anti-Semitic with racism at its core. The Hamas Charter reads like a modern-day 'Mein Kampf.' Article 7 of the Hamas Covenant provides the following quotation: 'The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Moslems, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, (evidently a certain kind of tree) would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews'. Their charter continues pretty clearly in this vein...But to shorten what is already a long thread I'll end here.

Unless you stop saying you want our destruction, we will destroy you. Even if you do this, we will still control you anyway and will probably destroy your infrastructure or take your land piecemeal as we did in the days before Hamas.

They mean nothing at the moment do they? You are talking of resolutions, great, but until one of the sides stops, it's meaningless.
At the moment, Hamas it would seem are going down with the ship. Dying defending their homeland. True spirit of St George (Palestinian) Rather die defending their country than subjugating and giving more of it up. Of course there will be resistance to the besiegement of Gaza and Palestine as a whole. The Israelis should expect that. There's always resistance among some of the population within occupied countries.
