No I wasn't implying that at all. We have come off the back of a relegation battle after a dire 2016 - Swansea were better placed, all-round when Monk took over from Laudrup. They were an established PL team, not considered relegation material, had a philosophy in terms of style of play and like us had a Chairman who was a fervent supporter.

I'd also like to see Wagner interviewed with a couple of others. (Monk and Dyche if they're still available. Aren't you mixing your metaphors a bit there?

The only "wondering" I did was why. Man is asked "do you know how to get round the third-party ownership rules" and, when he says he does, is offered a job. He replies "I'd need to talk to the FA first about it". It seemed a total over-reaction by the FA to me, but it did do us a right favour. The state the sport's authorities are in is apparent every time someone like Madley puts a whistle in his gob.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Dougie Freedman' by Guntrisoft Right, just putting it out there for discussion. If we could keep the backroom team Big Sam has in place, would Dougie Freedman be an awful step backwards? It's clear Silva was our last minute top choice and since not landing him there isn't a clear favourite. To be honest, if Monk is the clear favourite then out of him or Dougie there is a cigarette paper. Just to clarify, I'm not saying I want Dougie back. But some of the choices are uninspiring. For what it's worth my dream appointment would be Mancini, my ideal appointment would be the Fulham boss.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Dougie Freedman' by Guntrisoft There have been teams looking for managers and to be honest I have NOT seen Freedman's name mentioned in relation to any of them.He has gone off the 'Radar'.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Dougie Freedman' by Guntrisoft It's a no from me. As a manager he has lost more than he's won and barely gets about an early 30% win ratio. Monk is, at least over 40% and with Sams back room team behind him, he would, in my opinion, be a lot better. (Even with us Dougie didn't win more than he lost which is a strong barametre for me).

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Gary Monk' by Guntrisoft I don't think you will ever find a manager that gets 100% support. There will always be those that criticise and those believe and keep the faith. The most important factor is finding someone who can quickly get the respect of the players. I guess we can only hope the staff that Sam has in place decide to stay on. Would Sammy Lee for manager be such a bad shout? Players clearly respect him, has the Palace passion - who knows?
