'Brexit means Brexit'. Except when you have remainers in charge. We could be seeing the Tories badly damage themselves and rekindle Ukip. Unless they sort it out Ukip will be coming back strong because lots of Tory voters and some Labour ones will feel they have been lied too. Ultimately perhaps that will only be positive for Corbyn.....though I might be wrong about that as there are many northern leavers who vote Labour. Edited by Stirlingsays (27 May 2018 5.07pm)

UKIP is finished - wiped out within recent local elections etc. They have proven to be a one-trick/leader pony under Farage who is now relishing life within 'celebritydom'. EU was always going to make negotiations as tough as possible given that too generous a deal would open the floodgates for other countries to seek a similar appetite to leave. The reality is that Brexit Govt ministers had NO evidence of impact or proper policy platform in place as was revealed come the result of the Referendum. Since then, it has been decision making made on the hoof.

This weeks 'Arrogant C-nt of the Week' award goes to the European Budget Commissioner, German Guenther Oettinger, for this little gem today........... ''The negative development of the markets will lead Italians not to vote much longer for the populist''.

What a cock. If they go back to the polls those two populist parties will increase their votes. The EU is very lucky that France has such a rigged form of general elections.

Agreed. Quick update on the unelected bureaucratic gobs***e...........surprise surprise, he's now apologised. The last few days have been absolute gems. First the utter farce that is Italy and the shocking developments there (apparently the best excuse the Remainers can come up with is that the Italian President did what he did because he wanted to stop the markets having kittens. LOL. That went well.) And then we have good old George Soros. You truly could not make this up. A foreign Billionaire heading up a campaign to give us poor bewildered Brits another chance to vote again so that we can acknowledge how silly we were the first time around. Its beautiful. It really is. The only single doubt I have at the back of my mind, and it is perhaps more a sign of my paranoia than any logic, is wondering if these people can be this deliberately stupid? Part of me wonders if they actually want to create the chaos? But I need to ignore that voice although it has been right, on occasion, in the past. Just enjoy. That is what I keep telling myself. I think it would suit some remainers to have a financial crisis so they can finger point and say its only going to get worse. What is happening in Italy is a disgrace I hope they do have another election and the euro skeptic parties win a landslide. Reports today that George Sorros a foreign billionaire and Lord Adonis who has never held an elected position will launch a campaign for a 2nd referendum. I hope the public greet this with a massive yawn. Part of me wants a 2nd vote only my vote would be deal or no deal with no deal meaning we leave and keep our 40bn. I hope Mrs May takes note that the EU will be bailing out the Italians and will need our 40bn, time to turn the screw Theresa.

Since then, it has been decision making made on the hoof. I wouldn't be so sure. Ukip's state of influence is entirely down to Brexit developments. Of course it's a one trick pony and that's how the vast number of its voters, including me, view it. I, along with many of its previous voters, didn't vote Ukip since the Brexit vote. But as things stand at the moment I will be voting Ukip at the next election.

I've been saying on here for years that by removing ourselves from the EU we will be able to minimise the economic impact of its inevitable demise and breakup....but only by about half....less so with the remainers appearing to push for a Brexit in name only. The EU has been on a suicide mission since its enlargement and has only hastened it with Merkel's decisions as its de facto leader.

It looks like reality is dawning upon the UK. We are to be taking part in the EU budget talks for the next 7 years and it is by invitation. What is behind it, I think that we are not leaving. If we are it is a flag-waving exercise with a close re-alignment to prevent the economic damage being too bad. Business as usual or as near as damn it, that's what the treasury needs. I do think the intervention of Mr.Soros will keep labour out of office as 65% of labour voters were remainers and were not represented by JC and labour. Labour have caused George Soros because they don't oppose the government, always being too clever by half.

Edited by Badger11 (30 May 2018 7.53am) Question on this - in this no deal scenario, in your opinion (we still don't know the govt's opinion btw), what would this mean for Northern Ireland and it's border with Eire? I've been trying to think of how this can be solved and (unsurprisingly) can't come up with anything.
