totally agree..the longer it takes the less chance of him coming.....if he took training at bournemouth this morning then i doubt he's going anywhere....unless he went to say goodbye!!!

the jurys out on Hill....not really sure who i'd want in the hot seat now.....think i be tempted to stick with the doug!!!

I very rarely post, but i thought i would have my say.
If Howe accepts us, is it such a great appointment, no doubting the job he has done at Bournemouth is nothing short of a minor miracle, but could he do the job we would need to be done at the moment. He has no experience at championship level and i really do not think Howe would be an ideal choice, he seems a really nice guy and 100% dedicated to his job, but in my opinion a little bit too wet behind the ears to take on the job of keeping us up. I would be not be surprised if he decides to stay at Bournemouth or chooses to go to the clowns. It would be a shame to see a talented manager as Howe become a small fish in a big pond. What we really need is a manager who has proven himself at this level, has the steel and guts for the fight and has the ability to get the best from his squad, for these reasons i think Chris Hughton would be a great appointment and i sincerly hope that CPFC2010 have spoken to him or at least considered approaching him for us, he done a fantastic job at Newcastle and when the moral was low after relegation he sorted them out and they won this division at a canter, he was excellent this season in the premiership and why they sacked him, beggers belief. Bring on Hughton, Howe would be a fantastic in a few years time, but not yet, would be a good appointment at the wrong time ..

1/6 for the Charlton job. Sound familiar?.. Just means they've been given the nod for a chat... I'd lay 1/6 all day long!! Reports saying he's staying put at Bournemouth, although it's been suggested it's not reliable.... Hopefully we'll all know for definate very soon, so we can waste more of our lives on the Keith Hill thread.

Yet another report with absoloutely no substance. Im gettin tired of it all. We need someone asap. Time is running out and as ive said before if we dont sign players then we are going down.

Looks like you're right. Our local sports journo says he knows source for Eddie having turned you down on your rag and it's not reliable

Oh no, what a shame

He really needs to hurry this up, though, it is not doing anybody any favours.

Ipswich have managed to move quickly at least. We really need to all be put out of our misery here!

That's just pure speculation, what's your sauce for that?

I just want to have a palace manager who goes more than one sentence without saying "you know".

I don't know anything about Howe or Hill so can't comment on either but it appears Howe doesn't fancy so fine let me go. Hill can he step who knows but whoever comes in its becoming one hell of a job to survive may be as Mikeqls said it's worth giving Dougie a punt

The ups and downs of Palace have left me older than my years

I'll take either of them now. With all due respect, the longer it drags out the sicker I'm getting of it all....I reckon this thread will get to 105 pages before an appointment !!!

If Howe was coming to Palace he would have said so today! Time to move on quickly with "Roy Hodgson" or the next stand up johnny...

For god's sake - there is absolutely no chance of Roy Hodgson choosing Palace as his next club. He's a top, top manager and will be Premier League or abroad.

If you reach for the sky, you have got a good chance of hitting the ceiling. If you dont ask him you dont know!
Your sights are set too low, or are Palace on par with the pound shops in your opinion?

No, you're absolutely right. So, before we waste our time with Hodgson, we should surely look to Mourinho, Sir Alex, Wenger - more realistically Martin O'Neill's out of work at the moment.

Aiming high is one thing - wasting valuable time is quite another.

None of those you mentioned, would be interested in Palace. But Roy's a free agent and a Croydon Boy, played for the palace and at his age he might be looking to come home! A phone call is not a waste of time. What we are doing is a complete waste of time and a bit sad. With that thought in mind I'm off.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'just when you think we got him' by Hambo

Good point pizzzapat, the only trouble is if he wants to manage in the Championship it looks like its only a few months away at his current club.

Taking the bungy jump since 1964. Never to see John Jackson in a shirt again

Sorry to see Lee Hills go, did we ever see Alex Marrow? We did January 2013
