it shouldn't affect transfers as they are always slow during a tournament summer so its irrelevant.

these swipes at the owners about bad management of the club, if you think 9 consecutive seasons in the PL is bad management, then that baffles me.

i am confident a manager will be announced pretty soon, especially now that the season is officially done and all games completed.

i just think a bit of patience is needed.

Well their is a pattern of seemingly not having a plan when it comes to managerial appointments. Not necessarily a criticism of the way the club is run. Personally think a manager from
outside needs time to get to know the club, i.e. before the second week in June as with Fdb

Having taken a quick look at the Swansea forums their fans seem split on Cooper leaving. Did well with a mediocre squad but played dire football. Imagine if the entertainment didn't improve lol

The problem with the de Boer "fiasco" is that we gave him 4 games to turn us into Barcelona. Without opening up that can of worms, Ismael is a completely different manager anyway.

It's not just the remarkable (and it really is remarkable) season he's had at Barnsley but also his time at LASK.

We also gave De Boer a whole pre season to prepare a team to be competitive and look organised by the first game and without p1ssing off half the squad at the same time! He failed on so many levels just like he did at Inter and in his recent stint in USA.

I doubt Parish enjoyed paying him and his staff off after 4 games but he did so which suggests he must’ve realised things were seriously wrong!

Cooper took up the reins from Potter who was in charge of Swansea in the first season they were back in the Championship.Swansea under Potter finished in 10th place.

Swansea under Cooper in his 2 seasons in charge have got into the play-offs in both seasons, finishing the league in 6th and 4th place.During his time in charge at Swansea they have recouped nearly £50 Mill more than they have spent. In his first season the signings cost around £1.75 Mill and last season that figure was around £500K.

Cooper's England U17s won the 2017 FIFA U17 World Cup.

All of which adds up to a perfectly fine candidate for our club. Not mind blowing, but well worth very careful consideration.

I'd be happy with any of the apparent contenders. They all have their strengths and weaknesses, but if they didn't have weak points then they'd be out of our reach.

Then the income from that job is taken into account in your claim for damages as you had less damage.

Ah! Like gardening duty! I see. That is a mutual agreement. Which I already stated. It seems though that they sacked him and filled his position immediately, so he holds the cards. He can look for, and accept, another job. In fact, he could sign a pre-employment contract whilst awaiting the agreed time to elapse, and announce it before the time elapsed. As you rightly state, he should look for alternative work. Therefore fulfilling the contract in full. He would only be in breach of the mutually agreed condition if he started a new job prior to the agreed date.

Right so basically the only job requirement is that you can do it with little or no financial backing.

Mapletree is right. When Lampard's contract was terminated Chelsea and his lawyers will have started a process of agreeing compensation. As it is a fixed term contract he may have right to claim the total of rest of contract. What is likely is a terminal payment was agreed as either an interim or final solution which stipulated he could not take another job in epl till a certain date. He is effectively on gardening leave

Yep. Mutual agreement though. He could say whatever he wants about his next job. It's not a gagging order!

Agreed. The De Boer sacking was about far more than the four results, and if Parish learned anything from the episode it was surely that if you have the luxury of a little time (i.e it's not mid season) and a few options then for Christs sake interview prospective managers in great detail.

When De Boer told Ward, Delaney and Kelly they weren't good enough before they had even played a match, when he played Luka at right centre back, and insisted on starting the Premier league season with a system that anyone present at the pre season games could tell was a disaster waiting to happen, Parish and Freedman asked him how he planned to improve things. All I could think was 'Didn't you ask him these questions before you employed him?'.

Surely the best bet now is to interview as many of the apparent shortlist as possible, ask each one detailed questions about how they'd do the job, who they'd retain, how they'd want the transfer budget spent, what they'd do with Zaha etc, and give the job to the person who provides the best answers and most convincing strategy. Like in real life.

Thanks PitB. Having been to Court and through arbitration on this very topic I don’t know why my view was discounted, maybe you will be listened to.

I haven't discounted it! I stated that unless there was mutual agreement of the contract, Lampard is free to do as he pleases. Why do you feel the need to sneer at other poster's views? You may know contract law, but we aren't talking about Filipino carers here. There will be top level lawyers involved. Lampard's legal team would not get into the situation you describe.

I don't think your view was discounted.

Gardening leave is quite common (done it myself) but that doesn't stop someone looking for a job that is the whole point of gardening leave. If they actually start the job prior to the end of gardening leave then they lose any monies still owed.

If Lampard is on leave until June 1 he can sign a post dated contract and even announce he is joining Palace on that date and it should not affect his compensation.

If his contract does not allow him to even look then he should sack his lawyer because that is a bad deal.

Anyway I think it is an academic argument I don't think Palace have agreed a deal with anyone at this time.

Thank you. Maybe Mapletree will listen to you.

I absolutely agree with the emboldened text.
