I think brexit should be stopped at all costs. You do know that Brexit happened for the sole purpose of pissing off you and others of your persuasion, don't you? Brexit, then Trump. It's been a roaring success.

There is a thread for Trump, use it.

But you are asking the impossible. It would be no different under Labour, there is a huge split there and Jezza wants out, as that has been one of his per subjects since the ‘70s and he knows that his nationalisation programme would be illegal u der EU law. This is a highly divisive issue that cuts across not just parties, ideologies but also families. The referendum wasn’t flawed, if Remain had won you would have said it was perfectly ok. The issue is that this is complicated and people like yourself demand the impossible - effective negotiation, non divided parties and total openness of government intent, against a backdrop of an unwilling and mischievous opposite negotiating party. You need to re-appraise in your brain the real politik of the situation. I find it odd that we have this idea that Tories voted for Brexit and everyone else didn't - whereas many Labour constituencies voted out.

I do too but like so many issues here it has to be translated into left-remain and right-leave which it isn't as you state.

'Leading Brexiters who accuse civil servants of sabotaging Britain’s exit from the EU are adopting dangerous tactics similar to those of rightwing German nationalists between the two world wars, a former head of the civil service has warned'. Who is going to be the scapegoat for the looming brexit disaster? The scramble has already started.

The main caveat left wing leave voters have, aside from immigration, is keeping workers' rights. Ironic that immigration is driving wages down when some politicians claim it isn't, but hearing it from the ground, it most certainly is.

I don't think leaving the EU will do anything to solve that problem and staying in the EU doesn't stop the government from doing something to solve the problem. The current likely soft Brexit will do nothing at all.
