Are you saying Dazza should stop posting? If so, why? He is not offensive to anyone and is not breaking website rules. I don't object to his posting but I do object to him being allowed to post in the wrong forum as incoming transfer news should be posted in the Transfer Talk thread and not here. If it continues I will start commenting on the latest Conservative Party mishaps here too as what's good for the goose etc

Surely they are no worse than clickbait being posted? Which I also welcome as both sources should open up discussions rather than just criticise the poster

The problem is with the title, when you see a thread called Latest News",you would hope to read something that was news.

Dazza posts don’t open up discussion at all. The site members are already decided one way or the other on whether he’s genuine or not. So I don’t believe it’s fair to say that we discuss both thing’s equally. Some people saying they don’t use social media so they welcome the Dazza posts. The social media posts get shared on this site all the time. People share them, as social media posts. It’s really transparent. So you really don’t need an additional person using them as a means to look like they know more than they do.

I think the problem is that for the past few years we've seen the same pattern whereby we are led to believe we're signing 5 or 6 players and only in that one summer two years ago have we done something substantial. The expectation created by constantly posting that we've done deals means that when inevitably it doesn't happen people get pi$$ed at the club when as far as we know the deals were never happening. Personally I find the dazza threads a source of distraction, like the way I can't help but stop and watch drunk people arguing on the high street in the middle of the day. There's no real value in them as I can basically get all the "latest news" from a two minute scan of [Link] but similar to mattteo and others before and after him these things add some colour to the forum.

There's also the self gratifying 'I told you so' that occasionally accompanies a rare acquisition from us. Despite that, we are all more than capable of ignoring that we choose to. I see Dazza as a useful outlet for researching all that is available online where I either lack the ability or willingness to do so. I would encourage others to do the same. Treating the posts as though they are genuine, ITK and indicative of that likely to happen will only rub salt in the wounds of what will never be a perfect transfer window and breed resentment. Equally, using them as a platform on which to either air your own frustrations with things or squabble with other users will only be to your own detriment if not also to other's. Somewhat similar to b!tching about which tab any given thread should be on IMHO. I say all this with no assumption of virtue on my own behalf, only from personal experience of both 'squabbling' and 'b!tching' on this site. Neither of which has ever done me anything other than to ruminate on my embarrassment for a few days whilst hoping my blood pressure drops back down to normal levels. Best avoided if possible! COYP
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |
