I appreciate your concern Nick, but no need to worry, I'm too old to give a damn.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Probably for the best

Anyhow, in a more sincere sense, I would humbly suggest beyond the announcement of a further triple figure millions of spending, and a world class coach desperately eager and well versed in Palace, Roy staying next season would be our best bet.

The next move after that would have to be very well considered and executed, otherwise I fear it may well be as experimental and as doomed as others.

Nonetheless, we shall endure and try best to enjoy the ride! COYP!!! PL football again next season

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Any team needs a bit of luck. We have taken 10 points out of fifteen. Maybe Viera would have kept us up but that is an untested assumption while Roy has actually done it.

It is a fact that Parish made a good call in bringing Roy back, I was unsure at the time but it is proven.

I'm not sure about Roy staying on, but to say that Parish doesn't know anything about football is ridiculous. We have had 10 years in the Prem (something we have never done before) and the decisions to replace Ian Holloway, Pardew, Frank de Boer and Viera were all timely and proven to be good ones.

Fair post, this

You lot are Roy fan boys and dont want to move on with a younger manager. Rodgers would do a better job than Hodgson and if Forest go down and Cooper is sacked he would do a better job. Benitez would do better.

If you lot want to suck up to Parish and pay for his suits and hair to look immaculate then go for it be my guest!

Another very well reasoned post “Al” your continued support of our team and club fills our hearts with joy , I look forward to more of your ongoing well constructed opinions and arguments in the future

Steve Parish looks lithe and lissom in his designer suits and his hair is coiffured immaculately.
He is certainly a man of distinguished couture.
He certainly looks much younger than his age, 57.

Are you 12 years old?

How dare you insult 12 year olds! You should be ashamed of yourself.

Whilst one might see SN AI's recent 'troll' post about sucking up to Parish annoying (which is probably what it's aimed to achieve), he has at least put 3 other names of managers with PL experience into the debate.

One might add to those of Rodgers, Cooper and Benitez, the names of:
-Potter
-Hassenhutl
-Espirito Santo
-Bruce
-Allardyce

I'm inclined to dispense with Lampard, Gerrard and Pardew.

I'm not over-enamoured with the idea of Espirito Santo or, despite his short successful stint with us way back, Bruce.

Of managers currently in PL jobs two may not be with their current clubs next season:
- Moyes even if WHam stay up and
- Howe. Although Howe has done an excellent job at Newcastle I do wonder whether the owners might be tempted to move for a top marquee name who has experience of Champions League football with Newcastle virtually certain of being in that competition next season. After all Newcastle failed to win the League Cup - a case of man with trophies behind him (Ten Hag) v one with no trophy record (Howe).

Of the above I wouldn't say 'no' to Rodgers or Moyes. I find Cooper too inexperienced at this level and in any event I expect he'll stay at Forest either to build on survival in the PL or get that back up at the first attempt.

Hassenhutl seems OK but tends to be overly miserable for my liking.

We're not ready for Potterball - our flair players need greater freedom.

As for Benitez, he's a big club man and we're too small for him.

Finally, I can't see Big Sam accepting the financial constraints that are likely to be imposed.

Hopefully this post will get us back on track to look at genuine alternatives to Hodgson for next season.

After April, 2023, can there be any other opinion for our manager of next season?

An article saying Roy has shown the way ahead when/if Wilf leaves.
Personally I hope he stays. His dignity and demeanour reflect well on the club. Klippety Klopp may well be a very good manager but seeing him throwing himself to the ground and running up the touchline to celebrate in front of others (slightly redeemed when he did his hamstring and had to hobble back) made me appreciate Roy all the more.
