I was castrated here a while back for pointing out that this league is an up or out mindset league. You cant survive for long by aiming for mid table obscurity. Playing to not lose or stop the advesary from doing you home. Thats a lesson 73 year old roll of the dice Hodgson has never learnt. So here we are. a 10 man team gouges us at will. And some on here still claim our future in the prem rests on this man? Relying on Zaha antics to give us PL fascia was never going to be a long term strategy. Hodgeson is a gentleman for sure. He is a hack of a manager for shizzle. Crikey! A bit harsh imo
Systematically dragged down by the lawmakers |

I think the first post on here after we recruited him said "there are many questions in football, and Roy Hodgson is the answer to none of them". He's now not only not good enough, but a hindrance to the teams performance and damaging to the players and club. So suggest a feasible replacement then.

Just to reiterate: after the crushing defeat to Liverpool and the BS post match interview about being prepared for the next match etc etc, Hodgson as manager has to take full responsibility for the abject manner of the defeat to a side down to 10 men. Basically the team selection, game plan, motivational skills all fall under his jurisdiction and the performance today suggests that either he lacks in those areas or he has lost the changing room, or maybe a combination of the two. Whatever, there really cannot be any excuses for today's performance.

OK, I'll help the 'Roy Out' brigade a bit and start naming names. Internal appointment (Derry, McCarthy, someone from the reserves or youth etc). Anything here blowing anyones mind? Had you heard of Hassenhuttl before he came here Poch ect there are plenty of good managers out there its down to the club to find them if not were stuck with the conveyor belt of same old managers. Problem is the club clearly have no plan inspite of Parish's delusions and snake oil jive talk. If there were fans in the stadium Hodgson would of been sacked last season.

Nobody owes me an answer of course, but it is noticeable that apart from Swordfish suggesting an internal appointment there are literally no names being put forward as a replacement. I mean, you do all appreciate that if the club sacked Hodgson, they would need a new manager? That's quite important really, isn't it? I stand by my original observation - thank fek your all just sounding off on a forum rather than actually running the club. Edited by TheBigToePunt (26 Dec 2020 9.36pm)

Theres plenty of managers that could do a better job than Roy. Prior to his appointment, we'd had a rampant finish to the season and lost our first 3 games All it took was a manager that didn't play two 20 year old full backs at centre back in a 3-4-3 and we were fine. Frankly, all is required is someone who'll play their players in their correct position and play to the players strengths. Roy's reminds me of a throw back from a bygone age of cronyism when Britain was the sick man of Europe. He doesn't have the talent or ability to do the job, but fits in with the powers that be. There must be hundreds of intelligent, ambitious managers who want his job but have been locked out by an old boys club.

Edited by TheBigToePunt (26 Dec 2020 9.36pm) Nice post you sound like a decent and reasonable fella. Perhaps we could flip this and you can discount the available options, all of them, and tell us why appointing them in place of Hodgson would be folly?
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |
