Benteke has always been hot & cold just go through his career you will see this plus he was never a big goal scorer last season was his second best season he has ever had in prem I said when we signed him liverpool are laughing at us we well over paid again. People need to stop blaming him for the position we are in it's not just his fault. He wont go to china they have gotten strict over there with big spending now plus he was offered the chance he wasn't interested The main problem I see is Roy loves him so even if we did have other strikers available he wont drop him we already saw this when Soloth was available. Edited by grumpymort (31 Mar 2018 6.33pm) I dont think Roy 'LOVES' him, I think Roy knows he needs him and is doing what he can to boost him. He knows like we all do that up front Benteke is now totally off the pace. For a £27M striker both those misses were shocking. Even Championship strikers would have been embarrassed.

Roy loves him hes another manager who selects favorites he was never that great go look at his record he wasn't this bad but 8-9 goals season i think roy has changed the way he wants him to play and benteke just cant do it or not wiling to.

Well, Benteke will have our remaining 7 games to prove us wrong? I’m expecting him to hit the target next week onwards against lesser opposition and there will be more space around him for others to create and score. Let’s hope we get the results our form (even without the points) is showing us against the top six sides? I think we will get out of trouble and Benteke will score the goals to get us out of trouble :-)

I truly hope he turns it around. He is a hard player to play against but his goal return this season for how much we paid and how much we pay him every week is extremely poor. He is lacking badly in confidence, but all good strikers go through a bad patch, but the real ones come out the other side and start scoring again. The run in will tell us all we need to know. If he continues to miss chances then I do believe he has to be sold. I truly hope he does find his scoring boots, as he is a good striker, however there is only so long you can give any player. We will take a loss if sold, but his wage is ridiculous so we will save in the long run...

Seriously thought he had a superb game today I've been saying the exact same thing for so long but you give him a chance, then another...oh one more...next week maybe...when does it end? For me it's about now...some of his assists have been excellent and I don't think he's a lazy player at all but he's just not good enough anymore, maybe it's a confidence thing, whatever but he's our striker he needs to score (or rather he needed to start scoring weeks ago) as someone else said in the match thread you can see the hesitancy of some of our other players to even pass to him now, they know he's going to f*** it up, we need to sell him and hopefully (for him because I do actually like the guy) he can get his scoring boots on somewhere else and start enjoying his job again, he must feel like he's living in a nightmare. Edited for typos.
Bangell - If Camus wrote The Myth of Sisyphus today, it would be about Jason Puncheon eternally trying and failing to pass with his right foot. |

I am with you on this. I feel like I need to back him, and that he will come good, and I feel like he should be fantastic - but then we can’t wait for ever; and it feels like it’s been for ever.

Bit of a joke.

It was 3 mistake's,No'1 another chance missed. No'2 yet another one missed and No'3 not enough cover to drop Benteke. In every match, i say to myself and probably other Hol'ers is that i really hope he proves me wrong but that's just it, it doesn't change a thing what is going to happen if roy carries on selecting him surely again if it wasn't for injuries he'd be gone last transfer window. We would get less than half back of the £30.000.000 the club forked out for him, which is a damn shame for him as a player. He's just been mugging us off in past matches and surely it will end in the summer. He got 15 goals last season i think, now at least the club can justify paying him £120.000 a week but that form has gone he doesn't deserve that amount of money on form that he's been showing in every match.
