i think realistically now with the financial backing wolves & everton have its 9th place tops for anybody else! you could argue maybe 10th as west ham probably fall into the wolves & everton bracket. you can bet your bottom dollar wolves & everton will spend again this summer. i cant see us spending more than £10m net this summer, personally i have no issue with that as we dont really need anybody For starters, how about a Centre Forward?

the general criticism of Hodgson is unfair - we lack creativity in midfield and readjusting to the loss of cabaye and rlc took time - I'm no schlupp fan but playing him as inside left with one of jimmymac, meyer or kouyate on the right was the key tactical switch which got us a great run of form and a comfy mid table position - the manager has to make the team close knit and hard to beat, we play some nice possession football at times but we don't have the overall quality to dominate possession regularly in the prem, despite talk of our 'good' players we are where we should be, Roy has NOT caused us to underachieve - to be fair to the more negative of you looking at where Watford are shows we can raise our expectations, I think selling Wilf and getting a grealish type link man and youngsters like che adam and lookman in could lead to us integrating creativity into the set-up rather than relying on Wilf, and I'd be confident Roy would set them up in a very effective way.

RH has done a fantastic job, we were the first side in the lower regions to be safe. Sort the home form out and we will be in for a good season 19/20. I think we as fans sometimes just expect far too much with what we have available. What is a concern for me is what is happening in the background, stadium improvements and transfer funds for example.

As such, if we got a good fee I think the club would cope. If we lost AWB I think that would send a really bad message to potential recruits about our longer terms plans. Especially as we need to bring the age of the squad down too.
If you come to a fork in the road, take it. |

And who picks them? Point being we’re not exactly flush with attacking quality or flair. He could have picked Bats but after last week and with him not being our player he would have been battered. So where are all these exciting attacking players that should be cutting through our opponents at home ? According to many that player was going to be Max Meyer. What a load bollocks that’s turned out to be. Kouyate a decent grafter but no good when he’s asked the question in the final third. Townsend rightfully dropped because his home form has been dreadful. PVA can’t cross past the first defender or pulls the ball back too far. Bakery Sako maybe could have been worth a punt for ten minutes but would have been no more than a punt after his hugely prolific time with West Brom earlier in the season. As others have suggested Benteke looks finished and the reasoning behind playing him can only be to see if he can nick a goal or two and invite a bid or provide an aerial outlet when the opposition inevitably press our (currently) very average centre backs and midfield. This depends on how we approach to the situation. Overall, Palace did a good job this year considering the facts that there was no significant addition in summer and until January, there was not striker. Away performance is brilliant (6th in the league) and team (even there is a horrible home performance) always play structured. Both at home and away team know what they are doing at defense, the issue is that there is nothing offered offense at home I have been to 17 home games this year, only first half against West Ham and 20 minutes against Man UTD, team lost the control of the game. (Not been to Watford game) Better performance at away can be justified with the fact that there is a potential in the team for counter attack. However, you need more creativity and set plans at home where teams seems to have issues. However, i don`t think this is directly related with team quality. Only 5 points are gained against top 10 at home. 5 out of 30. If you are not a team who seems to be weakest link at the league (like Huddersfield), there can be no explanation on this. Weird thing is that excluding 2 goals against City & Liverpool which was conceded at last minute while attacking for draw, only UTD game is over 1 margin. However, other pattern is that; - We do not press. Never, only when we have momentum after scoring (which happens rare) This leaves opponent to settle and control the game and worst thing is this dramatically reduce our change to grab the ball and go ahead like we do at away games which we good at. Summary of this 10 game is showing too much respect to opponent. Should we be more aggressive, we would probably face 3-4 games where we may lose by 3-4 margin maybe, i don`t know. But i have doubts we would stuck at 5 points. Unfortunately this dull play-style was standard as well against bottom 10 excluding Burnley & Cardiff games. RH may be thinking that he need more qualified team to release the strings. If that is the case, RH may stay as long as summer goes well. However, if this is RH`s mindset and he thinks this is how it works, then there won`t be any dramatic change in home performance and again relegation danger will depend on away performance. We would easily be ok without AWB. Our defence is reasonably solid. We are also showing we can cope without MS as CB.

I know you're suggesting Hodgson could play with other players but because at times the players I've mentioned have been able to be more consistent he doesn't really have a leg to stand on when he looks at the bench and he can only change three, most games he needs at least five solid replacements to make any difference.

First I'd like to really see Benteke deal with a few quality crosses aimed at him ..preferably near his head, as good as Zaha and Townsend are with doing their stuff when they get it right they are piss poor with providing Benteke what he thrives on and to say he is not up to it is silly becasue he scored a beauty at Arsenal with a great quality ball, we also have Sako.

Wingers are what we need to feed Benteke, or good attacking backs who can cross as well as Souare could, PVA likes the one two more then crossing but AWB is just good at everything and will get better at another club, Ward is an excellent replacement for him. We need someone who can get the bloody ball across the box for Benteke to head because for all Zaha's trickery he is s*** with doing that simple thing ..come to think of it what does Zaha actually do for the majority of games?
