...from a busted flush that is Labour under Corbyn... Might we not leave it the voting public (the voters, NOT the opinion polls) to decide if Labour is a busted flush? I though you were pro-democracy. Or is waiting for the vote to pass judgment inconvenient? Whatever you think of Corbyn personally or politically, he is not yet a busted flush.

It's a good speech, but a bit too right wing for my liking Edited by johnno42000 (29 Sep 2015 3.21pm)

What a pathetic speech that was.

I thought it was a very good speech and he did rather well. 95% of it was directed at the hall rather than country but there were a number of things that I thought were interesting. One area that I think will strike a chord is the appeal to self employed people. This is something Labour have never been good at. In other countries the social democratic parties have managed to pursuad people that they are the friends of small business. The people who will have winced the most during the speech will be the FCO. His swipe at Saudi Arabia is completely justified but sometimes the national interest means you have to hold your nose and deal with such people. All the inclusive stuff and the appeal to young people will have gone down well more widely as will the environmentalism stuff. I suspect we will hear some righteous indignation from the Tories about the accusations of gerrymandering.

I left the Labour Party over the Iraq war. For the first time since then I think I might re-join

Whilst the attack/mocking of the press was fair enough and fairly amusing I'm not sure that's going to do him any favours in the papers in the morning.

The man is a bumbling mess, he has literally zero leadership qualities. How anybody could find this man inspiring is beyond me. Attacks on the media (there were enough of them) are both pathetic and counter-productive for him. That's the style, now... He is so weak on anything of any substance. I didn't hear one, not one, policy from him that made any sense whatsoever. He is positioning himself politically somewhere that speaks to the people who are already voting for him anyway, there was nothing in there for the aspirational middle class. Suppression of wealth to fund a bloated state is not only daft, it is unelectable as elections have proved time and time again. It may win you applause from loud, loony lefties on Twitter, but it does not win you votes. If I was a Labour supporter I would be in absolute despair. How could a whole party be this f*cking stupid? If you move to the left you end up with a Conservative government. It's like that's what they want, to become a protest movement rather than a serious political force. It's pathetic, moronic and bad for the country.

I've seen a few people moaning about a lack of detail in policies. FFS. He has been leader for 2 weeks. There are over 4 years till the election.
