What about the best of three? Or a penalty shoot-out perhaps.

I voted remain. We lost but that should be the end of it.

It is. Farage's half vague opinion is neither here nor there.

Optimistic as ever

Remember Trump's poll numbers, remember Corbyn's poll numbers.

It only matters on the day, that's when people vote how they really feel.

We had the vote and we are leaving.

I note that, just as with the campaigns, nobody on here has defined 'leave'. What does that mean? We will still have bilateral agreements in one form or another. Inevitably it's shades of grey. Because it's all so unclear and will disrupt the economy for countless years we have surely opened Pandora's jar. And we all know the last thing that was left in the jar.

Leaving means we revert to being a parliamentary democracy, making our own laws and regulations.

Unlikely. We shall need regulations that are in line with our trading partners. We may appear to be in charge though...

If we choose to adopt some regulations shared by the EU because it is in our interests, fine. Being in a self-governing parliamentary democracy we could always then choose to reverse that if it is in our interests. If we were in the EU we would have no choice but to adhere to whatever laws and regulations that their Commissioners deem fit to impose on us regardless of whether those dictats are in our interest.

I think the economics will trump the politics 99 times out of 100. As a result our apparent ability to legislate and regulate may be just that - apparent.
