OK, I'll help the 'Roy Out' brigade a bit and start naming names. Internal appointment (Derry, McCarthy, someone from the reserves or youth etc). Anything here blowing anyones mind?

The only positive from that match has to be Parish being pushed into making a change. I’ve always liked the stability hodgson has brought at the back, his organisational skills but now that has left the team. It may be a change of culture that might make us suffer for a little and a gamble but Eddie Howe would be an outstanding alternative in my opinion and would give us hope for the future, someone I love listening to, and undoubtedly the players would like to play for he also focuses on youth progression too. Can see him getting on with Parish Even IF Hodgson was relieved of his duties, the new manager would still be left with an old squad with several players past their best. I don't envisage a significant transfer splash in the January 'Window'.

Shaun Derry managed notts county , professionally and yes I would! Coz it might give us some drive and ambition, as I said I have been well in the Roy camp for months however anything is better than this Quite right, my apologies. In fact it was Notts County and Cambridge, so an even more stellar CV.

I was castrated here a while back for pointing out that this league is an up or out mindset league. You cant survive for long by aiming for mid table obscurity. Playing to not lose or stop the advesary from doing you home. Thats a lesson 73 year old roll of the dice Hodgson has never learnt. So here we are. a 10 man team gouges us at will. And some on here still claim our future in the prem rests on this man? Relying on Zaha antics to give us PL fascia was never going to be a long term strategy. Hodgeson is a gentleman for sure. He is a hack of a manager for shizzle.

Yes it is , please before you think I’m a knee jerker , read my previous posts defending Roy, however , no boss can come off the back of a performance like last weekend and serve up that today, he has to go, he really does , the Derry , McCarthy way is the most plausible because in my opinion we do better with some sort of connection at the helm , either way, I’d rather have a pint on that than get relegated getting smashed week in week out, last year at least we could say we were hard to break down and score against , this year ; we are getting taken apart and still can’t score , relegation beckons , and tbh I really don’t care as long as we give it our all , which at the moment we arnt , I’d still be there , if I’m allowed by the buffoon boris but atm I’ve got to watch tv listening to pundits cr@p

Schlupp is not a right winger, Milo Yet we have the players to do his system but he will not drop his favourites even if they are playing badly or are knackered. Our genius manager couldn’t use Camarasa, Meyer, Reidiwald etc and now has managed to take Eze and Zaha and nullify them too. He should build his team round them. There’s a reason he failed at every big job and the malaise that happened with England is setting in. Roy once said he should be thought of in the same breath of as Ferguson. The entire issue with Roy is he has his favourites and picks them, the rest are shoehorned in. We have real talent in Townsend, Zaha, Eze, Benteke but they are afterthoughts to jamming in dross like Milo, PVA, Schlupp (on the right) and a knackered Jimmy Mac. Edited by robdave2k (26 Dec 2020 6.41pm) Benteke may have talent but you have to apply it and today again showed that he simply hasn’t got that. Utterly lazy and like many contributed zero to today’s awful performance.

I believe every word from other fans from clubs such as West Brom and Fulham who warn of replacing Hodgson right now - do it at the end of the season - the grass isn't always greener and I don't know who people see as a replacement? The likes of Howe wouldn't come to Palace... Every club will have a run of bad results in a season - looks like Palace's is now. After the last 2 results, there will plenty of knee jerk on these pages - for what it's worth, 2 weeks ago 5 live pundits were calling this the best team which Palace have had since being back at the Prem. Hodgson's undoing is, at last, age and a lack of pace is starting to show within the squad. Macarthur has slowed down, and Miliojovic has become completely ineffective over the past season - between them over the past 2 seasons, they have formed the defensive bedrock which has allowed Palace to try and press as a defensive unit. Behind these 2 - and the back 4 have no pace at all. Cahill, if fit, and Tomkins should start at CB on Monday, with Ward and Schlupp either side. All well and good having the likes of Eze on the pitch for his creativity and flair - but if he is going to play as a winger then defensively he isn't at the level of Townsend - whose role becomes even more important defensively when J Mac and Milo are slowing down - especially when PVA constantly pushes forward and gets caught short. Palace will not go down and will finish comfortably mid table IMO - Roy is the man to see this season out before moving on. Blaming Hodgson is the easy thing to do right now - but other than starting Tomkins and Mccarthy today as opposed to Dann and Miliojovic, I wouldnt have done much different..... wonder if Chelsea fans will be screaming for Lampard out tonight?

If you were looking for a manager and suggested Roy many people would grimace. I think the first post on here after we recruited him said "there are many questions in football, and Roy Hodgson is the answer to none of them". He's now not only not good enough, but a hindrance to the teams performance and damaging to the players and club.
