This post has been merged from a topic called 'Gary Monk' by Guntrisoft Just had a look at Monk's Wiki. He would have to be the best candidate by far. Leeds only just missed the play-offs - not bad for a new manager. He was a centre-back himself and would be knowledgeable about structuring a solid defence. His record as a manager is not too shabby at all. I would prefer him over Silva TBH. Plus you can't can't be anymore English than a Welshman.

Gary Monk would be a disaster and would make the darkest of Pardew days not seen that bad. I cannot seriously believe that people are suggesting he should be our manager. What planet are you on?? Do Leeds and Swansea fans all agree that he was a disaster? I certainly don't after looking at his form. So I too would like to hear your argument's reasons please.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Gary Monk' by Guntrisoft Monk had a good first season at Swansea taking them up to 8th in the PL. At Leeds, Monk got them into the play-off positions but only won 2 out of their last 11 games and finished outside the play-offs in 7th place. So at both clubs, he did well to start with before the "Wheels came off". Edited by Willo (29 May 2017 9.09am)

It takes at least two to have a meeting. Is there any evidence that Palace snubbed Silva? Other than his signing for Watford, no. Was he or agent approached by Palace? Perhaps. They may have said no because they were focused elsewhere, maybe Watford. We Palace supporters believe in our club. Outhers looking from the outside may not. Their lack of belief, or belief that other pastures are greener, might just cause them regret in the future. Count me as one of those that feels Silva didn't have the chops to handle Palace even though he is familiar with at least Luka. Watford's record with managers is pretty poor. Let's see where they are this time next season. A useful opinion piece about who the writer thinks are the best options out there. Me? My preference would be Jokanovic

First, managing Leeds in the Championship is nothing like managing a team in the PL - agreed? Yes, I think you have a valid point, his record shows he can suffer a string of defeats. So maybe he's not the best option as I stated. But I don't think he'd be the worst either. He has had regular EPL experience with Swansea who were a very decent side under him until his run of bad form, and they have suffered for it, almost getting relegated save for Hull being so poor. But right now, at this point in time, we are in a pickle with no manager to buy our preseason targets and get the squad ready for the next season. I honestly do not think he would do a bad job continuing on from Sam's work. With Silva gone, Jokanovich needing 5 million just to begin to buy him, and with some prize clowns waiting in the wings, I think we'd do well to get Monk. I don't think he's as bad as Pardew. But I take your point, when the teams he's managing suffer a bad spell, he appears unable to turns thing around. point taken.

And do you not remember them getting the ball in our final third in the 1st half and non stop in the 2nd half until the 3rd goal? The manager can get the team in certain areas, if they're not good enough, what can he do? They were probably worth the same as Benteke to simplify it for you. Won't stop you or others making negative opinions of potential managers or players after they've gone as possibles for whatever reason. You and others make it sound like hull didn't bother you which we know isn't the case. Plenty were sh1tting it and lauding Silva. Were you one of them? I bet there are plenty who did and now write him off because 'Parish didn't want him' (had a holiday whilst a competitor nipped in unchanllenged and signed him up). Once again someone is telling me what I thought and said when they're totally clueless. At the end of the day Silva isn't an option so let's move on.

Says the man who referred to our late manager as BFS. Why not put your own house in order before you criticize others In light of the relevations about BFS , did he deserve any respect?
