great, so now we are going to have every wannabe bad boy rapper footy player there is want to sign up for us, just because of his name.. and hope to branch into music... Still could be a lure for beckham come september!! Thinking of it, why doesn't just buy a club... player, chairman, walking advert all in one...

The Whole Thing is Rumours. But here is another link. Soo Many Rumours Doing My Heading. I do Worry Will we end up like Portsmouth. Dont Think Soo Different story. At Palace Than At Portsmouth Aint it I am usually the last person to quibble over grammar and spelling on an online messageboard, but... did you even GO to school? LOL thats the way it is with some kids from inner city schools!
I agree with you - we do need to find a buyer quickly. The asministrator has only budget to get us through to the end of the season, so if nothing's lined up by then, we'll lose a number of players and staff I should think. To be honest though, I can't see this particular rumour being anything other than that. Still, best rumour I've EVER heard, so let's run with it for the time being!

The Saga Continues... I would laugh my bollocks off if there's even an ounce of truth. It'd be great.

Never gonna happen and I'm not a fan of his music, but if he did takeover I really don't see how our 'creative differences' would make much difference about the price of eggs. He's got the money, I imagine he'd actually get us run well and we'd probably attract a lot of extra supporters. Would be fantastic but I don't know why I'm even giving the thought the time of day!

Haha I like how they state: "SIMON JORDAN was no stranger to the jet-set - so at least the poor fans are used to flamboyant playboy owners with a taste for the high life." Yeah P diddy has houses filled with fur coats and diamonds and Simon Jordon's house is filled with the sound of crying and fake sun tan.....two peas in a pod!

Sean Combs is a massively intellectual fella though. Very well educated, and doesnt actually come from the hard knocks lifestyle most rappers brag about. He's by far one of the best young business men about, with success in near on everything he's put his hand to, music, clothing, aftershave etc. I for one would be all for him taking over the helm at palace. just a little insight; im sure that Simon Jordan never reached those heights!

If, for the sake of entertaining this idea, Mr Diddy is really interested in Palace - I'd be very keen to know if he plans to get some advisors in who actually know about football. If we were just to be his plaything, then I suspect we'd get very little money that would actually benefit the club in a footballing sense. At best, we'd be a novelty club. At worst, he'd throw a bit of money in early on, get bored, and we'd be back to square one. Yes, he's got plenty of money. Yes, he may have some business sense, but I really can't see him (especially as an astute business man) wanting to pump a great deal of that cash into a football club.

Being an older Palace fan I think I would rather be reading that Michael Buble was in talks to buy us Then again, I guess he is more of a Westham fan?

A truly heart-warming thread so far.... Now whilst I continue to take this with a (LARGE) pinch of salt, if there is one thing that the mighty CPFC has taught me, is that if it is utterly ridiculous and 'impossible' it is probably going to happen! On a side note - IF (and that is a big IF)this were true, and he did buy us out, he would probably be a background chairman. He'd promote the club across the globe, which would probably become our largest money generator. This is what would make this deal exciting should it ever happen. We'd make more money from marketing than footy! It is just about possible that this could be linked with Winston McKenzie for the following reasons: 1. The article mentioned that P Diddy was in London a couple of weeks ago meeting with football fixers (the same time as McKenzie gave his interview to the SLP & the Adder. 2. He (McKenzie) said he was working on the behalf from an overseas investor who was very serious and that whilst he would not disclose his name said that people would know who he is. 3. It's Palace after all, and is just the sort of random nonsense that befalls our club from time to time This is probably all a load of rubbish, but the news is breaking from a lot of different places - and that is sometimes indicative that there is more to it than initially we have given it credit for. If this happened, we could have a background chairman in P Diddy and an acting 'Director' in McKenzie...I wonder how the hell that would play out...

If this were to happen, which personally I'm caught on the fence about, I imagine it would be like the Pompey saga with their supposed "rich" owner and Storrie running the day-to-day business at the club with P Diddy pumping money in where the Chief Exec says its needed. With $346million what can you see to complain about there, and a new stadium made of gold and diamonds Edited by dsk15789 (18 Mar 2010 11:52am) Edited by dsk15789 (18 Mar 2010 11:53am)
